The image below demonstrates a concept game that I'm designing. I am very pleased with the prototype and believe the game has great potential, but as you can see my illustration skills are a little basic.
I have a patent pending on the idea, but I feel I need an accomplished artist on board to take it any further. I am looking to set up a business to produce the game, and since illustration is a key part of the product, the illustrator(s) would take on an equal share in the business along with myself and therefore earn an equal share of the profits if and when the game goes on sale.
I have demonstrated the prototype to my target age group and the response was very positive, I am thinking of focusing on high quality layered cards and charging a premium price for them.
I have several ideas as to the general theme of the characters, but you would have complete freedom to create them. I believe 45 sets of cards with 5 different themes would be ideal e.g. (9 mecha, 9 mutant, 9 alien, 9 animal, 9 mystical) but that’s not concrete.
If anybody shares my enthusiasm for the idea and believe they could contribute to the project, then I would be delighted to hear from them, alternatively any feedback on the idea or suggestions where I could find the skills im looking for would be greatly appreciated.
Big thanks guys
BIOMECS is a trading card game in which players assemble their own characters using the various different component pieces. Each packet contains 1 of 45 different base cards and 4 of 180 different component pieces. The beauty of the game is that all congruent pieces are interchangeable, and so there are over 184 million different characters possible. Each component piece has two values, and the idea is to assemble cards with lots of high values and battle with friends in a ‘trumps’ style game. Because the cards are dynamic, the game takes on another dimension in terms of collectability and playability.
