i messed up on his head and the shading is off is there anything that i can do to save this without starting over?
yeah the head is to big.....i need to redo it. i made his head to small and it all went down hill from there
In your second attempt, you may wish to ensure that you have captured the likeness in a line sketch before doing detail shading. There are many differences in the current drawing for a close likeness, and shading makes it difficuly and time wasting to correct.
the end of the girls nose....angle of mouth and chin ...guys lips....lotta little things. don't just re-do it...re doit 4 or five more times
it'll be easier and better each time. really ! it will!
and totally punch up your grey scale... more darks and more conviction, more middle greys
dogfood got exactly what I was going to say.
Screwing up? You might want to consider letting go of your beginning perfectionITICE. A better way to see things is that you are practicing a way of seeing which evolves everytime you make art. Instead of overworking this one, do many more - many.
I posted a photoshop treated image that might help you understand some simple values which gives information to form which may help your art making process and end product.
I am a much greater fan of process, loosing yourself in the work, letting your art be your teacher, let it educate your soul. I like your drawing, you caught something in both sets of eyes that is true - see it? Everything comes from the eyes, do them well, really well, and everything else will follow their lead. Rembrandt~
