This illustrator was new to me until today. My dad gave me an old National Geographic book "The Age of Chivalry" which included several paintings Tom Lovell did for them.
Here are 5 that I liked:
norsemen raiding a monastary:
battle of Hastings:
the end of the siege of Nicea:
and here's a link to a google image search on him: http://images.google.com/images?svnu...ll&btnG=Search
If anyone else knows more about him or has other images to contribute, please do so! He reminds me a bit of E. A. Abbey, strong historical research but still very painterly and dynamic.
