You already have an understanding of how light works. On the other hand, you depend your paintings too much on the effects that photoshop is capable of delivering. Try to use simple brushes and keep all those crispy, blurry or spotted brushes for when you really need them. If you want to have texture in your pictures, overlay a texture at the end of the process. Also, drop the white and black when highlighting/shading. Use complementary colors instead, or tone in tone ones. Using white and black makes images bland and artificial.

Nice works here.The only thing i recommend now is to keep studing human anatomy so that you can expand your artistic horizons.
Using the color will become easier when you will learn what exactly you draw(i mean by understanding the structure of the thing you draw)
