3CH paintings

This thread was originally written by viag on cafe sale (CFSL) a french art forum. We thought we would share it with you guys (although the english is still a bit buggy, and that's my fault too...).

here is the link to 3CH:
http://viaggg.free.fr/3CH/3ch_web.php

So here it goes kinda like that:

Hi Guys!

Here is a new thread.
What the hell is 3ch?

This idea came to us at work in Montreal, as we were practicing a lot of speedpainting, we were getting bored by the always repeating subjects like: vampires, samourai, samouvampires, robots, robotsamouraivampire, you see what I mean...
We were really turning in circles.... So we decided to give ourselves our own themes, when once, sparth said: "hey, today's theme is a metallic structure on the beach!". Which gave kindof a cool serie of paintings!
But then we got bored again after doing it for a while... Then few days later, Barontieri said hey, what not do: "a vehicle is being attacked by a big monster under the rain" which gave some pretty cool stuff like:

hydropix's version:

barontieri's version

vyle's version

Our images became more interesting than our previous stuff, so we thought, whyzat, holly molly? We finally understood, that the most difficult the theme is, especially if we had to draw something we were not used to, and as a complex scene, well you have to think harder. And when you think harder, well, you get better!

The only issue, is that after a day of work, your brain is dead, and you can't think of a funny theme, for the simple reason that you had to deal with marketing people all day for example. But that's just an example of course. Anyway.
That's why Hydropix, myself and Barontieri, thought of the idea of a theme generator that would create speedpainting themes.

That's where Hydropix 's genius comes in!
Not only he is a badass artist, he is also a programmer... So he says, hey, I'll code it myself! SO we all felt text databases with weird words and characters and environments. And it give this:
http://viaggg.free.fr/3CH/3ch_web.php

Be careful, it can get VERY addictive to click on the start button. Just so you know....
Anyway here are example of stuff created with 3CH:

"A twisting octopuslike creature glides above skelettons on a planet where storms are blowing."
vyle

"Malefic creatures are catching a guy in a waterfall"
viag

"A military robot spots a kid with a balloon in a broken glass area"
Barontieri

"a vehicle is being attacked by a huge monster"
Sparth

Sorry for the repost of images if you saw them already
Anyway, if you feel inspired, don't hesitate to post images here too!

By the way here are the full credits:

original idea Hydropix, Sparth, Viag, Vyle, Barontieri
Coded and entirely created by Hydropix
PHP version by Yog

We will upload a better functionning version tomorrow afternoon march 10 (there are some grammatical weirdnesses right now)
Edit>> fix uploaded, enjoy

RULE: 3CH has to be in the painting written somewhere!

Hi everyone,
please feel free to post ur 3CH experiences, it's always very funny to see the results of crazy subjects generated by this button! we try to do our painting under 1h30... if possible because there are a lot of constraints (compared to the usual 1h speedpainting sessions we had). You can always use refs if you want, it helps to improve your understanding of lightings, reflections, colors and textures...
Enjoy!

Man this is brilliant! Perfect when you are at a loss for inspiration.
Look at all your art, it's magical.

So I checked the program and got: An abyssal old biplane vomits a jellyfish in a temple.

So much for luck on that one. Aw heck, I'll try it out.

Thanks mate!
