8) Your work looks very nice
here's a web page you can go to
If you like what you see submit your information.
If not spread the word around.
Kei-th - don't worry if your first attempts don't turn out so well... perspective is just as difficult as anatomy!
SHADOWX - I sent you an email...hope thats what the kind of info you were looking for!
I got the scanner! So here's my first perspective try:
And the 2 thumbnail attempt of the loader and truck:
as you can see the loader looks broken in the 2nd thumb.
kei-th - congrats on the scanner!
looking good on the perspective!
number 1. is a little off try to keep your vertical lines at 90 degrees to your horizon line.
the loader looks a little out of whack - try setting up just two boxes to start with then work inside of them - then frame the image last....
also know that drawing multiple objects the are sitting in your image at different angles to each other, but on the same plain can be very challenging - don't get frustrated!
hope to see some entries on the DSG!
IDotW - WIP
2 hours - double ended sharpie, 5" x 7" copy paper
a couple of persctive lines got a little out of whack - but I think i can fix it in photoshop!
yeah I forgot to put a description on the numbers..
1. first try and didn't realised that I needed to draw the verticals vertical
2. was a bit better
3. looked strange because I drew the box to much to one VP
4. the best I think
5. try out with 1 VP
6. try out with a box on a box
but I think you had already seen that..
What do you mean with "out of whack"?
oh cool tip I will first draw a box next time!
I hope there are anny cool DSG's comming up! I already had a very little sketch for the DSG 1035 but that is just really really small like 4 square cm.
So maybe I will try that one in big tomorrow I am of to bed now
EDIT: Nice WIP! get some markers on it ! Or are you going to paint it digitally?
EDIT2: Just found some old sketches:
I hope my future works will be beter! And now I have a teacher (you :p)

Kei-th - awesome, i look forward to see your DSGs!
the boxes you did looked real good - and most imprtantly you are able to identifiy the ones that looked incorrect - thats almost 90% of the battle sometimes!
Also don't worry to much about size - a mjority of the work i post for the DSG is about the size of a business card.... I like to work small in my sketches - it help me see if my perspctive is getting out of whack!
as for my WIP - not sure, i might do one with marker and one with digital paint.... I really need to practice my digital stuff!
ogar555 - thanks man, I really like drawing vehicles!
here is the finished version - 3 hours PS
Awsome! That IDoW looks great you really improved your digital skills! damm you learn quick..
I will try to draw my mini sketch in big today!
Mort - thanks! I am flattered that you think it looks feng zhu...his work is definately bad ass! Unfortunately I didn't study under him, I would guess we were both probably taught a lot of the same things in school though...
Kei-th - thanks that makes me feel good - lately i have been rather frustrated with my wacom tablet - this is the first rendering I did were I feel like I actually had some control over the result!
Lol, someone mentioned feng zhu and im starting to see the similarities . I was thinking that you might like to check out some the concept art for the game homeworld. There is a load of vehicle design and stuff - if you haven't seen it already. Great designs - Alcian
I had another round of perspective today!
At first I did the one with 2 cubes that went pritty ok so I decided to move on and then I saw a tut about perspective and they explained also cilinders so I gave it a shot! The first (1) cilinder wasn't such a succes, if you lengthen the verticals they will cros. The 2nd went a bit beter. But as you can see I have a litle prob with drawing circle them self ( left midle ) I also made there a few idea's. The Right bottom was a combination of a box and a quarter of a filinder, I hope you can see that if so I succeeded! The litle box in the weird angle was just a practice but it went not how I wanted it might try it later on
I think I am going to open a own SB so I don't spam yours full of my shit
Hope you will be checking it out a few times so you can give some help
EDIT: A few people mentioned Feng Zhu and I think they are right but he usually doesn't try to remove his perspective lines and I think that's a cool style. In your IDoW you did it half sometimes you removed them and sometimes you left them in place. If I was you I would choose one of them, and I would choose Feng Zhu style. but still keep to your own style.
When I have the basics of drawing done and I am able to draw some nice vehicles and environemets you should make a tut on how to make it digital, if you want to.
Kei-th - the perspective studies are looking good! And I wll stop by and check out your SB frequently!
I never really thought about leaving my construction lines in or out, they kind of just happen as I am drawing - its something i picked up in school. I had several proffesors who would not allow us to sketch with pencil - they considered your thicker line value marker the eraser - you just draw over the thin lines.... it seems to create a nice texture and also allows for the enrgy of a sketch to shine through even after you tighten it up...
I was just trying to make a sketch for the vidanova IDoW.. not thinking about really entering but just for practice. But I made a small sketch and now I want to make a biger one! But how on earth can I draw it bigger? because on the small one I didn't work with VP's but in the biger I want to.. but when I place my Vp's and I want the same angle as my sketch the drawing will become really small because the VP can't be of my page..
And Please check my shadow try in my SB
there's my litle sketch scanned at 100 DPI so in fact it's even smaller. I tried to draw it in big with out VP's but that was a rampage! I also tried to scan in in at a high resolution and then resize and print in on a A4 and try to draw it over, even a biger rampage as a result. So have some kind of problem..

1hr - pen and marker
just practicing replication with common construction and minor adjustments...practice, practice!
kei-th - i looked at your sketch hopefully the idea below might help out, i think you have a good start - let me know if this makes sense
Yeah I thought about the 1pt Perspective bit I think that's a bit boring..
but the 2 point perspective.. woow.. I don't really understand.. I see that I need to make some holes in my table and use some strings etc. But if you do this you get 2 parts of a cirkel on your paper.. how can I use these as a VP?
Your Female study looks great. Just very good no crits for this time
Vulgar - thanks! I am still learning the rules myself and trust me, i can still get very frustrated sometimes....
kei-th - sorry i forgot to show a critical step! I think might help -
Ah! now I understand! thanks!!
only 1 problem I asked my mam for a tack and I told her this plan but I wasn't allowed to make holes in my desk.. But maybe I can also use a A3 paper and lay that under the A4.. Just a thought I will try it
But still I am not actually sure on how I can transform my little sketch to a biger.. how do you do that?
Kei-th - you could probably use tape instead of a thumbtack!
as for making you sketch bigger - just scan it in, scale it up, turn the opacity down, print it out....then draw right on top of the print out!
oh tape is smart!
But I tried to scan it and turn oppacity lower but then I just duplicate the mistakes I made in the sketch, perspective etc..
And then I have the ugly overscaled sketch on my final drawing that also wouldn't be cool imo.. Or is this really the way you do it?
kei-th - i typically just use my little sketch as reference and redraw the image larger...
maybe try building your ship with simple objects first - square, cube, rectangle, cylinder, etc.. then once they are looking good you can carve your ship out of the blocked in space....
I think I give that a shot this evening if I have time. huge homework
Thats some realy god work
i like your style of drawing mechanic and your enviroments
your watercolour work is awsome post some more imean please post some more
What are you doing START drawing
BlackSumarian - thanks!
colored pencil and PS coloring - 2hrs
Cool! Really like all the expressions!
You did a really good job on the clothes to!
And thanks again for the help with the rope plan etc!
Check my SB I uploaded my biger sketch!
drawing some generic skulls to test my understanding of the skull.... these were done without reference... I don't think i did very well....some of the angles I just couldn't figure out how to make them look correct....I want to study some more, and then try again with even more angles!
anybody know where to buy a skull model? - my anatomy book only has front and side views
2hrs - top set - pen....bottom set - pencil
