So, i was thinking a long time ago that i should start a sketchbook to get me to do more stuff. i have been very inactive here at CA, lurking, for quite some time. so i thought it was time i did something about that. Hopefully this sketchbook will haunt me whenever i am slacking off more than is proper. so here goes, the first post..
a sketch i did earlier today, i feel like the proportions are a bit off, and them feets are something i really need to work with.. but all that aside, here it is.
this second one took me 2 hours in photoshop. ref used... and that yellow thing was born during the process. i am actually pretty happy with this one.. but in a week i will probably see plenty of faults with it..
draw draw draw! thats the only way to get better! and I mean draw constantly, dont ever stop. I started doing this a week ago and Im not stopping no matter what.
archipelago: will do my best to follow your advice..
something i found on the computer, did this sometime 2005, springtime i think, or maybe autumn.. i don't know..
a reviour, or whatever the viva la france ppl say.. (i have no idea what they say in france, my knowledge begins and ends with bonjour)
Keep an eye on perspective in your first sketch. The VP for the amp seems to be low and far right, while we're looking on the character from straight on at mid height.
so long time no update.. guess i have been in some kind of slump, haven't been in the mood to do anything at all really.. but anyway.. i thought i might do some fanart since i couldn't get any good ideas on my own, and since i am a big fan of tales of symphonia..
see you next time space bummer!
His wrist is bending a bit too much. Try rotating it a bit, and also keep his feet on the same plane. It adds to the believablity of it all. Personally, I'd also clean up the swords.
In quite a few places you seem to have just randomly placed folds. Try to think of where the tension is, and how clothes would really react. Use reference even.
You're getting there. Try to work less with thick black lines. Good luck!
