Creature Design Process 101 Finals Showcase

Here are the final images for the Creature Design Process 101 activity.
The assignment was to design a creature called a "waterlope" (part antelope, part amphibian/fish) for a hypothetical game design.
You can see the whole process in this thread here.

I'm really proud of all the work you guys put in.
You did a great job and turned in some wonderful images.
Congrats to all--you should all be proud of yourselves.

Thanks to Mike for starting this, and thanks to everyone for participating.

Something else is in the works as a possibility for the weeklies, which will make them MUCH more interesting and will make people really want to participate. So although I would love to do a second version of this design process, I'm not sure if I'll have the time.
i remember there was something like this here on conceptartdesign.org.
Every week or two weeks a new step in the process too although a bit faster.
First a character, then a creature, then environment,.... always had to go together with your original story

Don't really remember so well, though. CAD.org has been dead for a long time now and they also deleted the archives unfortunately... (url doesn't work no more anyways)

great job everyon...participants and instructors...!!!

I have a suggestion for the next round (or maybe for this round also):

I think it would be really great to read the concepts of each entry, though the topic for the creature was the same every artist has a different approach and different view on the interpretation and design...

Maybe if not concept, some thoughts of the artists about their entries would be a nice addition to the whole thing...and actually would complete the idea of CONCEPTart...
