[ I couldn't fit it into the blurb, but the idea here is that the "Bat-Thing" is descending on the assassin... ]
[ So, perhaps the old wizard is not being caught unawares, afterall. ]
Fantasy: THE ASSASSIN SNEAKS UP BEHIND THE WIZARD AS THE BAT-THING DESCENDS
these are complicated sketch topics
nice, Zeitworlf, you should do more with graphite! Suits you!
My first DSG. I wanted the assassin to have an "oh shit!" look on his face but after about five tries the best I got was a "fancy that, there's a giant bat coming at me" look.

Thinking he had the advantage, climbing undetected to the top of Morbid's tower, and catching the necromancer in mid spell, Ovid "Blackhand" Gruffe didn't know just how many magical defenses Morbid had, and that his dagger's magic was smelt by Morbid's very hungry familiar.
painter, 25, not as dramatic as I had imagined it
I spent 3 hrs on this dude. I was going to not even color it but then it sucked me in and I spent another hour after unexpectantly spending an hour redoing the line work.
Quick and probably way too cartoony, but I had fun with it.

Hermchen, very nice, I was trying to visualize this without the wizard being unaware, that did it perfectly.
Herm and Jorg, fantastic stuff.
Many nice postings here ... Some of my favourites:
Hamsta - Very nice colours and atmosphere. Like the style a lot.
Hermchen - Very nice face and expression. Love the dark fugures in the background.
JörgenGiftmördaren - (Är du svenk eller ser det bara ut som det?) Nice face and colouring. The assassin might look a bit flat here on my screen at least but a very nice piece otherwise.
FalSe profit - Very nice motion in this one. Like the simple colouring as well. It really feels alive.
Zeitwolf - Nice motion in this one. Real action!
Llothcat - Like the cartoonish style and simple yet effective colouring. The bat-thing is brilliant!

JörgenGiftmördaren Very nice in all, good first impact, nice rendering of the wizard's face in particular.
The assassins head seems to be somewhat too high, maybe it's the cloak's fault. The bat is a little too simplified and somewhat of a different nature then the rest of the piece.
The knife also looks a little out of perspecive, compared with the assassins hand, and I don't like how the assassin is holding the knife, where the hilt and the blade meet.
I know this is a really late post, but I did do the image the day this thread was posted. I also apparently misunderstood the concept: I didn't realize that the bat thing was supposed to be descending ON the assassin. I thought it was just, you know....descending.
i gotta stop and do some paying work, these are addicting. i am really trying to paint on this one, and i don't think i can get a good grasp of it, but here is 1 hr pshop
i actually got paid to create a 3d model of human poo once. well actualy, i am on my (t)3rd (lol, i kill myself...) iteration, so like i got paid 3x. I should just go ahead and create some reference. this itshay is kiling me...
