Looks good so far. Your anatomy studies are good, the basic proportions are correct and it looks like you know what you are drawing.
I especially like that ape.

Crits:
- your rendering is to chaotic. Try to symplify complicated areas (it's easier to draw that way and you get a better understanding of that area) and try to organize your hatchings better.
- Your lines look unconfident. I'm mainly speaking about rythm and flow here. This issue can only be fixed with training although doing warm ups can help a bit.

Post more soon!

Hab gedacht ich schreib mal auf Englisch. ^^ naja bis dann

Good figure drawing .. I wish I had had that model

The pencil work seems to need some more darker tones - the tonal range (sounds very arty to me ) isnt "wide" enough I think .

All your figures seem right - maybe look at every bit of a drawing when you are done with the drawing & carefully compare drawing & model.

I.E. make sure you drew what you actually saw because it looks as though in a few drawings above you did not concentrate on what you actually had before your eyes.

Certainly good sketchbook start.

Just IMO

nice stuff dude!! I really like the figure drawings.
Well this green portrait seems very 'unorganic' to me. It looks a bit as if this head was made of wax, since I can hardly notice any anatomical structure. Also try to push the values a bit more so that the whole painting gets some depth, maybe you could try to work with some textures.
Keep at it dude!!

ok well... i dont have a lot of time during the week because of school.. which i really hate... sadly its not like i could do anything about that. so heres what i put together this weekendIm trying to improve my digital skills..)

(im really unhappy with that tube type thing.. i tried to achieve a chromish look but as you can see i failed.. advice on that would be appreciated.. and the background.. oh well)

(the sketch is a couple of weeks old but the colors ar new..)

(the look i was aiming for on that image originally.. ran out of time i guess)

(messing around with painter since i really gotta get into that program.. right now im mainly using photoshop)

(i looked in the mirror this morning and.. well.. i felt as if i had to draw what i had seen..added the cig tho - i dont smoke cigarettes in case any one cares)

thanks for the c&c everyone

ill post more as soon as i have time to do so...

I like how the third one came out. Really cool. The fourth one is nice too. Looks like you can handle the impastobrushes. Looks like I will have to give them another try. I suggest doing loomis head constrution studies. That will help to solve the problem with faces. (I guess you know where to find loomis books on the net, if not, tell me and I will send you the link).
The last one is my favorite. I like the colors a lot. Hoever you should watch your lines. Make them as clean as possible. Additional there are slight problems with anatomy. Loomis can help with that too .

HA! your lines are getting better! I like that last one. The face and his belly are very well done. The middle area looks strange, and he is out of balance, but I guess the crits are unecessary because you did it for fun and not because of the concept. Post more.

got some good stuff here =) one thing that stands out right now are your hands and feet. they're not up to the level as the rest of your drawings. i'd recommend looking at some bridgeman books or just studying hand structure with pics on google. if you look close, you'll notice that there's a curve on the knuckles. they don't go straight accross and that's what offsets the fingers a bit. also, i'd like to see you finish those 5 and 10 minute poses. it'd be good practice and defining a light source and form i think. anyways, keep it up. doing good stuff =)

weeelll i had a lot of shit to do for my school but now im done and im on break.. Merry Christmas to you all... I got acrylics from santa! i will get some oils for myself too though.. So thats what you'll get to see in the near future.

Here's what I gave my grandparents for christmas, it's me growing up.. for some of the past pictures I obviously used reference...

here are some quick character designs, my goal was to quickly come up with a bunch of characters that have the same theme..

(veery important one... its about 1 x 0.5 cm big..)

heres another present i made.. a ~300 page calendar (1 drawing/day, 1 drawing/weekend(2days)) the printable version has a frame on it which tells you the date n all that.. lots of work.. but i stuck with that fat penguin character all through the calendar..

and finally... a birthday card for a friend of mine.. it shows 2 friends and me.. me being the guy on the right in the leather jacket..

ill be updating more regularly again.. since i have the time now.

peace

The first one is really good, i like the idea and the result. Still some major anatomy and proportion issues on those character designs. Best would be to do some thumbnail figure warmups from live or reference at the beginning.
Sorry my english sucks. I'm tired.

hey krackel, that's a really clever idea for the grandparents....I'm thrilled to see you working with figures and designs...I hope you keep working on those proportions and anatomy...plus they all seem to be in the same pose, maybe it vary it a little bit? keep drawing from life too, those are sweet....

thanks erone - the proportions were supposed to be a little bit of but i guess i pushed it too far.. I was aiming for a comicish look- im still doing more anatomy studies now.. nothing worth to be posted though. Heres a small update:

Did a portrait of my sister.. there are alot of little mistakes and the photographed version looks weird. Anyways(its like approx. DIN A4):

I had this idea...:
