"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."
Sentient, if you're interested I can send you a zip file with about 180 female poses that I lifted off a photography page half a year ago. I'd give you the adress to the actual page but I really have no idea what it was. I'll try to look it up though, I know receiving files from unknowns can be an unnerving experience. Let me know if you're interested though
Hey, found the adress.
Just go to: http://www.photographytips.com/page.cfm/374
Use the textlinks to the left to browse the guides.
If you don't want to spend tedious time browsing and selecting I can still send you the zip file. Hope the pics will be helpful in one way or another
thank you! excellent reference

With a smile on your face?
you know, normally i wish i was more cultured. i wish i had more experience in different walks of life from travelling... but sometimes i hear things that make me glad to be an ignorant american. the ole slug in the eye(see television thread), and somehow creating a window from a female human being are some of those... i just dont get it sometimes... lol. then again, my culture worships corporate america and gigantic hamburger goliaths. so maybe were both weird, just in different ways. *sings hands around the world to self*

i understand now.
Jeez, I can't make a joke and turn my back for 3 hours here or the whole dicussion turns ugly.
Okay; here's my opinion on window-shopping:
Those girls are not there for their own amusement. They are there to make money. That is exactly the same reason that every other prostitute around the globe does that kind of a job.
Amsterdam is not unique in window prostitution. You can see the same things in Brussels, Berlin and a lot of other cities. And I don't even want to start about countries like The Phillipines and Thailand. I personally do not think window prostitution is a very pleasant sight. But at least they don't have to work in dark alees, or out on the streets, as in a lot of other countries with all the risks of molest, rape, murder etc. that comes with it.
The Netherlands (and Amsterdam in particulair) has the name for it, yes indeed. We are more relaxed about a lot of other things too, compared with a lot of other countries. But in that we are not alone either.
But what bothers me the most about the window prostitution is this: as I said; they are not there for their own fun. They are there to make money. So if a bunch of horney tourists comes up to the red light district. And go window shopping without buying, just to tell their friends they have been there... Than who the hell is turning this into bloody freakshow???
And one other thing: I have been to the USA a couple of times. And it allways shocks me to see how many people have to life on the streets there. I am judging no one. No country is perfect. And the world is not allways a nice place. Certainly not in a crowdy city. Please think twice before you make a judgement on something.
im sorry if anything i said ruffled your feathers... i was just making a comment. i know things are different all over the world, and i myself have placed no judgement on anyone. if you noticed i made light of my own countries problems too. i think i speak for everyone who contributed the this thread that no judgemnt was being passed intentionally. sorry again.
you mentioned theres alot of homeless in america, is this on a much lesser scale in other countries? do you often see homeless in amsterdam?
Hm... okay. Maybe I'm just a bit sick and tired of all the bloody tourists running around here who think Holland is only tulips, sex and dope. I love someone who takes an interest in my country. Honest, I do, and a lot too. But I really hate those who come and crap in our backyard 'cause it's illegal in theirs.
Now let's talk art again. Peace, jeroentje
