Another attempt at some landscapey/building kinda stuff. I picked up a Feng Zhu Gnomon DVD on Shot Design/Composition that has been super helpful. Its really changed my thinking about my artwork, made me meditate on it more. By default I'm more of a reactive drawer, where I might start with a really loose idea about what I'm going to do, start making markes and go where ever the inspiration derived from those marks takes me. That approach is good for finding something new...however it works against you if you're trying to do something like draw out a realistic market scene or something...Basically planning is very important for that sort of stuff...Duh right? Knowing that is one thing...integrating it into your thought process and workflow is entirely different. Hopefully I'm moving from the former to that latter now.
