NOTE: THIS IS NOT MEANT TO 'BUMP' OR BE AN ASSHOLE. PLEASE LOOK AT THE LATER PAGES AS I AM HIDEOUSLY EMBARRASSED BY SOME OF THESE EARLY SKETCHES. I LOVE YOU ALL.
long time viewer first time blah blah... took me 3 years to decide to post something.
Thought I'd start my sketchbook dump with a few finished pics, just to show you what I do.
Found this spot through CGCHAT.com where there are many members from here, too I see.
Anywho... C&C as always is welcome. This stuff is mostly CGCHAT comp stuff.
Latest, in descending order:
That's a Bruce Sato from M.A.S.K. redesign I never modelled.
My 'Sobeki' race in various forms
Yay! I won! Check out the model: TapRoot
Tanooki! Model: Racoonsticles
Here's a character design for a HL2 MOD
I hope you all enjoy... this forum serves as a good ass-whupping when I get lazy with my art. Here's a link to some more sketchbook-like pics (pretty much straight from my sketchbook!) on CGCHAT before I bog this first down with too much: OBSIDIAN NONSENSE

Pretty rad work.
The first girl seems a bit wonky in terms of proportions and anatomy and whatnot, though.
Edit: On 2nd viewing, I realize it is the neck and right arm that look a bit off.
Awesome colors though.
I'll keep tabs on this thread.
I figured it was the massive, impossible sword that messed with the proportions
haha, thanks for the comments. Her neck is a bit long and the armour/puffy sleeve kind of covers her arm, so it's hard to tell the foreshortening I sketched originally.
Oh Well, you win some, you lose some!
awesome to see you posting here ghost, and while Im pretty familiar with your 3d work (which I always love) Im looking forward to seeing what you've got with regard to 2d skills.
I wanna see some of your traditional work (pencils and pens and paint and what not) if you have a chance to scan some in.
Anyways, welcome to the sketchbook section, the best part of conceptart.org
Anatomy distortion is intentional... just my style... but I'm sure it needs a lot of work, regardless. Ilike big hands, long necks, big feet!!!) I haven't done much traditional ish lately, but I'll get to it and scan some stuff soon as Aesir noted.
A warm welcome, and thanks to all!
WHOOPS! Learning the rules: Here's an Octoshrimpus straight from my sketchbook.
Paint markers, Tria markers, pencil crayons, ballpoint, china marker... etc.

Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo ghostworks. good to see you here dude.. nice dump of stuff too, though a lot of it I've seen I still love that tanooki drawing sooo much.
coolness man, I'm looking forward to seeing you update this thing from time to time.
nice concepts so far! The weapon on the first chick though... unless you were going for humor, there's no waqy she's going to wield that in battle
I think your strongest design so far is your tanuki. I dig his overall form, his accessories and his pallette muchly ^_^ Overall, break out the reference when drawing your humans, and by all means, keep going. I want more!
And this is all I have to show for it:
I was working at a web development company for the past two years in Montreal, realizing that I wasn't doing anything to help my artistic/game career. So I painted these two images on my lunch breaks using the tablets at work
They inspired me to quit and move back to Toronto to study Game Design at George Brown College.
Anywho, I am in definite need of critiques and practice. Looking back on my earlier posts from this pathetic thread, I'd like to think my technique has come a long way (need... to work... on ANATOMY!!!)
Cheers, I promise I'll stay this time.
Goodluck with the revived artistic push!
You can get a cheap wacom for a hundred bucks or so--its nothing fancy, but it does the job. Also, if you're looking for a fun painting program that's all the rage these days, try ARTrage. http://www.artrage.com/
Even the free version is pretty powerful!
Long time indeed! I didn't notice the "attach image" thingy, so I apologize to any admins. Next time.
Joe, I bought an intuos 4 recently. Got a ridiculous deal on it. i love it to death.
More art soon. Maybe an action scene for a change.
Thought I'd try out the attachment manager.
Some dino sketches from a little while ago. No Photoshop, just paint markers and ethanol art markers on brown paper. K, I lied, there's a bit of blur on the beast in the background, but that's it!
Fun Stuff! C&C very much welcome.
