The Last 4 months i didn't draw as much as in the last two days.
First time in life i have really as much fun to draw as i have all the time speedpainting, something changed in my mind i really get into it; and im really happy now.
Also the frst time i really get into drawing digitally without any struggle.
(all done in Photoshop, 1600*1200(for posting scaled down to 50%), 4px roundbrush, penpressure->opacity, orange color in style-mode->linearburn)
Anyway, here is what i have done since yesterday evening:
and throw some colors on the piratescorcher above:

Yes, good start man, especially the Pirate. See you at Saturday!
thx both of you
a lot of speedpaintings last time (i post 'em only at sijun ...)
so it took me some time to get back in here:
thx very much
yep im going to draw more often now ... i really have fun to do it these times
Interesting sketches. Any reason why they are all brown? Just wondered. They are all fun to look at and it looks like you're getting somewhere. I look forward to seeing more. I think my favorite is the guy with the gun, dynamically done.

i used a liear-dodge mode while drawing to add a saturation-contrast(greyscale only have value-contrast) which let you notice better how often you scribbelt over the same line.
but more than this i think its some sort of habit give you a comfortable feeling and familiar atmosphere.
Especially when beginning to draw digitally its something gives you support/stability in an emotional way. A friend of mine first used a custombrush looks like real pencil to get into digital drawing - it helped him alot(today he is firm in drawing the digital way that he don't use this trick anymore)
the citiyscape is done by a friend - all scribbels were scribbelt by myseld:
Started with drawing my head from mirror, because i couldn't imagine how the head works out of this perspective.
All others are out of mind.
nice your forms seem verry free how long does it take you to draw say a head.
Great work, Dura!
My favourite is the monster with the horns and the big hands.
Dave, dunno - such a head doesn't take long - anyway you have to take the time for every single stroke again, if i hurry the result goes bad.
Or as CraigMullins would say - "think more, paint less".
So don't really draw very fast, but if im concentrated, all strokes fit in and it the right place doesn't take long to get it.
If you draw for a job and come back to personal work for fun its way easier to relax the same time. If you have to draw something special at work with deadlines etc., to draw what you have in mind and take all the time you like to spend for a drawing is really enjoying and its feels way easier, than it was before you know how it is to earn money with drawings.
Nethertheless, work is fun and a very good training.
(Have to do commercial storyboards.)
Cool stuff Duracel, I like those sketches. You're getting more and more comfortable with drawing in PS.
Was browsing the selfportrait-thread on Sijun a while ago and came across a lot of SP's from you. Very inspiring.
Thx, and yep I do.
Except one - my selfportraits are very old ... about 2 years or so.
But its nice to hear they are still inspiring.
some handstudies (left hand as reference)
Here is a quick NEW selfportrait of mine.
power full sutff
Thank you very much.
Dude - this stuff is cool!
I really like the demon guy, more of that please
Nice linework in that SP, and that diver-guy is looking great.
madplanet, about this "unique style" you mentioned - well, especially im very happy things "from life" as those handstudies really look the same as things from mind.
Today im on a level where i have the ability to "see" things the same way no matter if its a drawing from mind, a photo or something out of real life.
Im able to draw "outlines" in my mind if im looking at reallife-references; im able to see a photo 3-dimensional and i can "rotate" it in my mind.
And organic forms are nothing but volumes in perspective as technical things are.
So all things i draw go through the same parts of the brain and thats why they have this style, no matter if i am drawing a figure or something technical, with or without reference.
I guess this is the most important thing for this unique rhythm in my work.
Anyway, here something is new, nothing special, just some more doodles:
Well, those drawings are for nothing but practise - and if i practise color, saturation and value i do speedpaintings (i post those speedies in the sijun-speedpaintingthread and you can see them of course in my gallery - www.duracel.de/gallery)
Here for exampel is the link to a speedpainting i did yesterday:
- but if you like to see something special in a coloured version, feel free to announce it, and i will see if i can spend some time on it.
This time i was drawing in an inverted modus - while those drawings above have a orange-colored pencil in "linear burn"-mode, this is teal in "linear dodge" on black canvas.
