Andrew, I just went back and looked at your first Daily sketch on cgtalk (Number 61), and I'm amazed at how far you've come in such a short time. What clicked for you?

The latest sketch is spectacular. The subtle lighting makes it look modelled.

The progress you've made over the last 5 pages is amazing and totally inspiring. You are amazingly skilled and judging by the progression, seem to have an excellent sense for work. I love it!

I will be following this one. you are officially bookmarked.

Im really enjoying your use of overlays. They seem to be used fairly rarely in most digi paints, but as seen in yours can produce a pretty dramatic effect and feeling of realism. The idea that someone could actually use that armour is rather debatable, but it sure as hell looks like it kicks ass

Those last two are so well done. Would you happen to have process pics of them? If not could you show us some whenever you make the next one?

Thx

Thanks guys - glad you like them. I'll be putting up tutorials when my site is ready. At the moment the only free time I have for this stuff is after midnight - thats why all my posts are around 2-4am.

Anyway just a quick painter sketch for now, but I might do a full render of this later.

mentler - yeah - fixed some perspective issues.

xephon - Thanks man!

GUYJIN - no problem

mull77 - Cheers - I'm in the Northwest of Manchester

Summer Pudding - Thanks man! No 3d was used

Calle - Here ya go...

Was looking at Dan Milligan's awesome drawings and was struck by the way he captures the forms of the face with such elegant lines and shapes.

So I had a go myself - they pale in comparison of course

Those latest robot paintings are fucking insane! Both in design and technique. I'm pretty impressed by the range of your work, you seem to be able to handle organic and machine elements with the same flare. Nice work.

You really have a way of 'feeling the forms' if you know what I mean.
Great shapes in those quick sketches.
I really like how you handle the shapes of the eyelids and how the light and shadow affects them.
One of the most inspiring threads at the moment.
Thanks for the crits in my sketchbook by the way, I will try

Your armour is really very cool,
I can just hear the SCREETCH's it would make from that texture.

Nice to have some one with real talent representing manchester

Pass by the UK lounge thread if you havn't already and say hi, others would love to see your sketchbook.

Also theres talk of organising a UK meet up north in the future and getting all those southerners up here

Hey man, been following your work on cgtalk and this sketchbook. Very inspirational stuff. Your quick sketches have incredible designs. I'm already starting to see some lesser people trying to rip off your style, that means you are doing well. Congrats with the success, now hurry up and get hired by a game company so I can play a game with these designs hehe.

Every once in a while you find something that's truly inspiring in a way that totally surprises you. Your stuff does that for me. That's rare, thanks

that animated GIF is cool.
i think your mechanical stuff is a lot stronger than your figurative work. the ID stuff has more flavor and gesture than your organic drawings. i can't quite describe it. not that your figures aren't good, they are good. I just think that your ID stuff feels more direct and confident. anyways, you are a very skilled artist and your sketchbook is awesome.

wow thats a slick animation, I would definately recommend getting flash if you havent already, its a great tool to use for animation, and many people are looking for skilled animators.

Thanks a bunch for dedicating a sketch to me, i feel so honored. Thank you! you rock.

we gonna see some more delicious sketches?
