Hi Crazy, thanks for the nice words in my small sb! Warmed my heart! Great to see new stuff from you. I dig the man with the gun to his head - very powerfull and still delicate - you can sence him. Nice job. And the self promo is really cool looking!!! How long does a piece like that take? Great headstuides dude - good practice. Andrew gave you good crits ill just add that the distance from the ear to the front is the same as the distance from ear to back...i think hehe (how i do it anyway). Gives good balance when doing profiles. Also mind the size of the ears a tad more - they tend to be a little small - as a style thing thats cool though. I wish i could give you better crits than this, but i cant you are doing really great man!

heh - i started a new page

hey, cool stuff here, nice studies. Good thing on the skull studies are the lines, especially the last girl. I like the strong, straight lines. Keep it up, i want more, more

Hey Fellah, Thanks for the tip about the ears. I know you are a busy man, so any time you can find a moment to stop by and drop a crit on me, I definitely appreciate it. And thanks for leading me into page 3

Cyanid, Thanks for the comments. I hope you'll continue to stop by and take a look once in a while.

OK, I'm going to try to turn the volume up a notch on this sketch book. I'm really going to try to post at least one sketch every day from now on.

So here goes nothin'

The train I was on the other day was stopped because someone got hit by another train ahead of us. So I did this while we sat on the train waiting. Proportions are all off I know.

And here's a quickie SP in Photoshop. Trying to get the hang of this digital painting thing.

until tomorrow...

darkchild - thanks for keeping an eye on me. I've been checking out your SB too. Things are looking good over there.

Well, since the new goal is to post at least a sketch a day, you get what you get. So here it is for today.

I'm doing this last one using photo ref. I'm going to keep working on this one.

Edit- Something must be wrong with the clock on the server or something, because I actually posted this reply after darkchilds post below.?

Cool PS work, but I love the guy in the spacesuit. It has a very streamline design reminscent of old sci-fi movies.

Hey crazy, how's it going? Great to see these quick color studies from you, especially the one starting from july 30. Quick, loose and experimental. It has a lot of energy in it. This recent one of the girl seems to need a little more of that looseness in stroke. BUT it is a move towards a more refined finished look (i just read your later descripts as i write this), so diminishing the loose quality is part of it. Great boobs, real nice volume. Looking forward to seeing the finished pic.

Well, It's been too long since I've had a chance to do anything with this sketch book. I can't believe all the comments.

darkchild- thanks for checking in so often. I'm glad you like it. But, I think this is as far as this one is going to go. It was a good exercise, but lately it's really been bothering me that I don't have more confidence in my basic figurative drawing skills. So, I'm going to try to spend more time on the fundamentals before I start worrying too much about technique.

lukavi - Actually I think you are right. Before I get bogged down in trying to do some big deal finished piece, I've got to keep going with more loose drawing and studies and that sort of thing. Thanks for the kind words. Like I said I hope to be doing more anatomy studies, so stop back once in a while and give me some brutally honest crits.

Placeboast - I'm glad you found it. Your very nice comments are more than I deserve. Thank you.

shyamshriram - Thank you very much! As I get into doing more anatomy studies, I'd love it if you ever have the time to stop by and drop a crit on me once in a while. I can't remember if I ever commented in you sketchbook - I LOVE your sketchbook.

sve - Thank you so much. Please do stop by often.

Qxzi - Thank you. I plan to. Hopefully my schedule will permit me to start posting more often again.

So, like I said, this is as far as this one goes for now.

I'm going back to the start. For the foreseeable future it's Andrew Loomis time!

But first...some dead guys.

OK...now it's Loomis Time

Regarding to my previous post and your answer to it: in my opinion I'm not too kind. Everybody has a certain kind of style that intrieges their eye. Your style is just the way I like it. No more to say. See ya later.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for coming by and checking things out.
Erilaz - Yep, still at it. Just too busy lately to stay on it very regularly. but I'm tryin'.

shyamshriram - Thanks so much for the crits. I'll get back to that painting eventually.

Jtoons - Thanks very much for the kind words.

Placeboast - What can I say. I'm very glad you like it.

Cyanid - I'm glad you stop by to take a look. The dead guys were fun.

OK - OK, I know I said it was nothing but Loomis from now on, but I've been busy at work and at home and have to sleep once in a while, blah blah blah, and then Oregano had to come along with the CHOW, and I've been having a lot of fun watching the action there. So,the temptation to give it a try this week was just too much to resist.

So here's some initial sketches I've done just to explore some ideas.

You being the crazy3dman and all, you really haven't let me seen your 3d art work. Shame on you. Is your homepage going to be open soon? Good work on the latest post with the postures. What I'd really like to see from you is more frequent updates. See you again soon.

Ha Ha - Placeboast - well, for the most part, I've tried to keep the sketchbook separate from my 3D stuff. But once I stop obsessing about the CHOW, maybe I'll post a couple 3D things I've done lately.

For now though...
I'm having trouble deciding where to go with this. First I started to work some detail into this guy,

But I just wasn't feeling it, so I decided to go in a different direction, with this, which I like so far

But now I just looked at the CHOW thread and now there are some up there, kind of along these lines. So I don't know...maybe I'll just keep going with this. We'll see.

CHow is coming along real nice, maybe decide on a background color real soon, now the white of the page is having a big influence on your values.
Wish I could join in on the CHOW this week but not enough time.
Good to see you're still around.
