Justin Sweet will be the Artist-In-Residence at Fullerton College
from March 7-10 (Monday thru Thursday).
If you don't yet know his work, go to http://www.justinsweet.com and
take your time.
We've done this on a smaller level at CSF and their big room was more
packed than any event I've gone to. Justin's strengths as an
illustrator are making him famous, but few get to see his process.
This is your opportunity to see him paint and hear him talk about his
work. It's free.
The schedule for the demos and presentations is at
You probably won't get into the classroom demos if you're not early,
but the LECTURE PRESENTATION on Tuesday night at Wilshire Auditorium
is big enough to guarantee seating space. This will be a privilege
for those of us who learn from watching talent in action. I'll be
there for every session. I hope to see many of you there.

I'll be selling most of the Prints at the exhibition. Most of them are 20x30 or so. Archival Roland prints. limited edition. the 20 by 30's are 300.00. (gallery gets a cut)
I've got about 15 paintings there (none for sale). Some of the paintings for Lion the Witch and the wardrobe. big ones, 34x80 and such. a new Kull painting and other stuff.

great demo today justin I really enjoyed it, was also nice talking with marshell and hearing the other teachers and what they had to say. had to leave after the first half though so didnt get to watch you finish it up, but it was a kick ass piece.
thanks for doing that man you rock!
thanks sinix and noc. It was a good time. the the gallery will be open for a few more weeks.
Wow, what a treat, thanks Justin. I went for the digital but got a lot more out of watching your traditional process. Makes me want to pick up the brush again... Great to know you're local and a down to earth guy, Cheers.
Sinix, it was great to have met you also. It just goes to show, we were both up in San Fran and wound up meeting locally.
Two years only, huh? thats some kickass stuff I checked out , keep it comin'
Any more AIRs anyone knows of please post, especially in So Cal!
What a sight to see if any of you live in or near Fullerton. Forget Niagara Falls, Justin's artwork is really awe-inspiring! And seeing his concepts for The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe in person- what a treat! Prior to this, I had never even heard of the name, now his poster is up on my wall with other greats such as Arthur Rackham, Warwick, Bruce Timm, Leonardo DaVinci... oh, the list can go on and on!
Well, if you're reading this Justin, I just want to let you know that you're awesome! Before, I had sworn to myself that I would never do digital art, but after visiting the gallery, you've made a believer out of me! I'm also planning on taking Marshall's anatomy class. You've really inspired me to get back on the ball and draw a lot more now. Within a few months, I'll be buying a Dell laptop computer, and to tell you the truth, I really don't know much about them (ram, megabyte-what??) Can you give me some specifics on what I should look for when getting a comp? 'll be using the Corel Painter IX with it. Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Search this forum - there should be quite a few threads about buying computers already. They won't cover everything, though, and computer specifications change all the time, so don't be afraid to post a new thread about it. At least let's try to keep the computer discussions out of this oneOriginally Posted by GothamGirl18
KevinP-nice meeting you, and thanks for the nice words.
Gothamgirl, thanks, as far as what laptop to get, I don't know.....take Pontemonti's advice and search these forums. Jason Manley once gave me some tips on laptops...
I'm new to the digital art world, and I'm planning on getting a laptop computer soon. Does anyone know what I should look for when purchasing a computer? I'll be using the Corel Painter IX with it.. thanks everyone!
