thanks! its been awhile though and my tones arent as smooth as i would like, especially the last one....
These look fantastic. I can't seem to find the patience to go in this direction.
yea, these are looking great!
keep up the good work!
patience is your friend, dogfood
wow are these photo studies? or are they real sculptures you drew from? These are great! keep going
the first four are bargue studies, and the last one is from photo.

another one from yesterday. after scanning i noticed that the foremost shoe is way off....
adjusted contrast in photoshop to make it easier to see
too bloodey rigid, Try to use chalk, and bigger paper
I like last yellow one, youy should finish it....Its britney spears from the esquire cover if I'm not mistaken, right?
theres a nice variety of light value there
to make it better i think you could throw some more darker values though, like the little girl thats alot better.
my sketch blog
thank you for the comments.
yes i should go to bigger paper, but its just easier to carry around 8 1/2 x 11
and yes britney spears from an esquire mag cover
ok so the crap from this week:
(contrast adjusted with photoshop)
and my first attempt with charcoal:
more of the usual:
and since ive been trying to be so tight lately, i decided to do something loose:
I can see your ar doing lots of
ref work wich is very good, (I should do
more of them he he) and your shading tecnique
is well on its way, but ill recomed your to try to
make some only-line focused drawigs, force your
self to pull out volumen only with lines,
you could make some more imagination suff too,
Iv discoverd, that when I do now non ref work, I start
seen wich ones are my problem areas, and that way when I
get back to study from refs, I focus in the things
I saw I was lacking in my imagination work,
I can see your have a good chunck of raw skills
now make some imagination studies, and post em;
see ya in the next update.
Thank you for your comments, maxetormer.
Indeed, I have been doing a lot of ref work. Mostly because I haven't been drawing for the past five years and I need to work those muscles, so to speak.
That, my friend, is pure . I really enjoy looking at your pictures, keep em coming!Originally Posted by haribubba
that one was a real bitch to do. i felt like giving up so many times. its still not finished though (see midsection) . so many of my measurements were off and whatnot. im glad i saw it through as far as i did though!

charcoal leg studies
you have really grasped the concepts of lighting and tone. good work.
Strange coincidence that every man whose skull has been opened had a brain.
great lighting... I wish I had that kinda handle on lighting... ***need to look away from screen... this work is hurting my ego!*** bye bye...
lol, thanks guys!!
