As soon as I saw the thread title, I knew exactly who you were talking about! I've been seeing that name every day for years. It's the only name on that list I ever see. I'm totally naming my child Seetharaman.

So I'm reading thro the Lounge and I see the name 'Seetharaman Narayanan', an I'm like, oh, why do I know that person? Lets have a look at the thread...

Blaady Photoshop...right there at start up...

Man, if anything, you have made me read that name over and over, cause now I am having trouble pronouncing it right ...

Its the same thing as when you have a song stuck in your head. You sing it out loud a few times so everyone else gets tortured too.

I do the exact same thing. I sit there while PS is loading and try to pronounce it in my head, wondering about the exact enuciantion. Actually I do that with alot of words come to think of it. But that name is just ponderific.

note: I've officially created the word ponderific. Just for things like this that make you sit and stare and ponder their meaning, origin or very being. It'll be in Webster's someday you just watch.

second note: How bored are you tonight, Jetpack?

Now, I'm all curious. I wanna know who this chap is. I think we should start a CA mission to find Seetharaman Narayanan, solely for the purpose of telling him how mesmerizing his name is.

I'd feel pretty cool if I got an e-mail from a bunch of people telling me how great my name was.

I`ve had the same "problem" myself. But i am focusing on another name.

Dave Rau

Rau means Ass in norwegian. I`m giggling like a schoolgirl each time i fire up photoshop.

Thomas Knoll is the one that always sticks in my head. I think this is due to when I first got PS I was working for an RPG company and was designing a book about Gnolls.

Mike Leavy too. Because I always think about those Mike Levy infomercials that used to play on NBC Super Channel before GI Joe came on Saturday mornings.

Glad to see I'm not the only crazy person that's thought of this!

yep...chalk me up...everytime i load up photoshop, it's the same deal for me...
Seetharaman Narayanan!!
every single time!

Not only did I memorize it but I have associated him with the Veruca Salt song 'Seether' and also the Prodigy track 'Narayan'

with those kind of name associations, the guy *has* to be the coolest indian genius programmer the world has ever seen.

I like the fan club idea...

Thank goodness I'm not alone! It's interesting that even though Seetharaman's position in those credits has changed across different versions of Photoshop, his name still draws the eye. It has a wonderful rhythm when spoken out loud, too.

This guy could be a cult leader with a following of regular Photoshop users finding his presence strangely comforting and familiar. Man, what a geeky set of disciples he'd have!

'Tai Luxon' is a great name, too...

Let`s just regard that information as false and continue staring at the name.

It`s just like when you read a book starring the writer, then you get this image of him, and at the back of the book there`s a picture and he turns out to be a fat guy with a beard and glasses (Bill Bryson), which makes it even funnier really, but still leaves you disillusioned.
