thanks a lot chester!
i just use a book called anatomy for artist its publoished by vinciana press it think its juts a short magazine but it has a lot of muscle + bones that arent stylised like some books!
the other is a book i got from library called anatomy and figure drawing by louise gordon.
Dan VD- hows my thread scary??!!

female studies from fotos
sketches from imagination
April 8th, 2005, 06:42 AM
some studies and sketches for today.
April 8th, 2005, 06:56 AM
nice studies man. i really like the latest ones that you did; youre arms are really nice. on the faces from imagination though, one thing i noticed is that the forehead (and top half of the head) seems a little bit squished. like, the eyes should generally be at about the halfway point of the head from top to bottom...yours are most of the time a little bit higher. anyway, keep up the good work, g'luck with the drawing.
April 8th, 2005, 09:30 AM
holy crap, your an animal right now!
settle down :p
jk nice studies tho
April 8th, 2005, 11:49 AM
Oh man these are some of the nicest and cleanest studies I've seen!
April 9th, 2005, 07:13 AM
purb- cheers fort eh crits man, ill have to watch out for that in the future.
thanx arghmisfit damn straight man its the hols been drawing up to 4 hours a day since about thursday or friday.
thanks angry scientist much appreciated!
anyways this is a sketch of lara i did today took maybe 4-5 hours or so, hmm.
April 10th, 2005, 07:40 PM
just did some quick crappy muscle studies. im working on a new drawing like the spine one, so dont have much time for studies.
April 10th, 2005, 08:39 PM
the lara pic looks awesome!! the belt and HER right leg looks kinda messed tho. the belt looks like its going into the leg, and the angle is a little too extreme
keep it up
April 11th, 2005, 03:43 AM
thanks arghbro i agree i will get around to fixing it up soon!
but im busy working on that series of drawings, the first was the spine one on page 3....this is part of the next one...theres 4 faces in total on this drawing.
work in progress
April 11th, 2005, 09:33 AM
damn, that self potrait looks awesome, your rendering is so much better then when you started.
April 11th, 2005, 09:53 AM
guy, you iimproved like 50000%!!!!! the latest shit is so tight, I am really impressed with your applied lessons in tonal shading and dynamic form construction, you are combining the best of both with real virtuousity!!!! please keep posting!!!
Now that you have such a good handle on controlling a drawing,,,, I would love to see you take a more fantastic aproach to subject preference....something a lil' bit more challenging in terms of extreme forshortening or a strangley proportioned figure or scene,,,,,more imagination,, I think you could realistically render anything you can imagine if you imaginate it hard and careful enough.
April 12th, 2005, 09:47 AM
thanx profil glad to hear it man
codakromek: i agree man ill probably get down to that stuff later but for now i gotta finish this series of drawings!!
this is the next one...i am aiming to finish it tomorow....then i need to start another one and hopefully finish that by saturdaty, so much work to do!!!
April 13th, 2005, 01:45 AM
finished the ugly bastard, prettyy much complete
April 13th, 2005, 04:28 AM
your improvement of drawing skill is awesome!
the Last piece is really good!! i love your line work even though it could be finner with more drawing study.
another critique for the last image, it will make the piece a lot stronger if you add little white high light. it gives more demension on it.
anyway, great work. keep it up!! wanna see more of your stuffs!
April 13th, 2005, 04:39 AM
i aint got time to critique, but its all sweet bro !
April 13th, 2005, 04:39 PM
your improvement in your skillz is very very very inspiring!
love the latest piece! wow!
how old are you now?
April 13th, 2005, 04:56 PM
That lattest picture just rocks...i've always known ya for your awesome spawnish type comic styled art...but that last one really shows off your ability to render realistically...awesome work man...
April 15th, 2005, 09:02 AM
thanks hurri man always appreciate your support!!
thanks a lot don, ppreciate it, i turned 18 last month, woohoo!
cheers shatters, im grateful for ur reply!!
and heres todays progress...didnt do anything yesterday i needed a break. but yea started this today
need to make some adjustments and so on as usual but ill do that tomorow morning when i can look on it with fresh eyes.
just trying to push myself in diffferent ways creatively and getting my brain to think had to apply the muscle information from front on views so it was a bit tricky, anyways

dude, i'm shocked. No I know how much I suck in my skillz, i'm 17 at the moment. But it's very very motivating, seeing others being so good
April 15th, 2005, 06:38 PM
Dudddeeeee!!!! your getting so good is freaking scary!!
the only thing I see you could push on your SP is the translucency
and moisture of the eyes, right now they look as if they were
made of the same material of the skin, eyes refract and bonuce the
ligth in a diferent way than the skin because of the translucency quality
they have, try drawing your eye to full detail in a close up and
you ill get what i mean, other than that DANG!!! I wanna be like
you when I grow up!!

im a lot happier with this one, i call it, "that sinking feeling" heheh,
ah im finally done enough drawings for now, in the past month or so ive finished 4 A2 drawings for school, so now i can rest for a while and go back to doing more studies/sketchbook stuff, cant wait!
April 27th, 2005, 09:40 AM
some crappy quick face plane sketches, schools back and im studying and shit so not enough time to draw, there are a few problems because of the time spent on them, next time im gonna have to set aside more time to do some better ones, but i guess i just needed to get back into it again i dont have as much time as the hols to draw
April 27th, 2005, 05:44 PM
sheesh shiznit, your work has improved amazingly, not only throughout but from the last time i posted it has just became great
your the same age (a day younger), and inspired me to go crazy with my pencil, cheers
and keep going
May 4th, 2005, 08:11 AM
thanks shin i am really happy that i could inspire anything, honestly i think its the best compliment an artist can get thanks.
ah its been exactly 1 week since my last post...
well i have been drawing everyday but just not enough time to do anything interesting...sometimes i have about 1 hour free to draw if im lucky with school+soccer+study+set homework i just ahve to try and find that hour of free time to hit the sketchbook
mostly just plane studies and body crap without reference...well a couple are from ref...but ill sink into ref studies later on when i have more time.
the drawings i entered into a comp here called the mosman youth art prize, in the 17-20 years category made it into the exhiubition AND i got shortlisted to win an award! wish me luck on friday ill be attending the presentation night to see if i won!!!! this is my first semi-achievement so im really stoked,
here are the pics mounted and wrapped in this shiny plastic stuff
