So I want to be a Concept Artist I love drawling fantasy styled characters that you would normally see in a square soft/enix styled game. But there still resaults in one problem.. I understand that getting into the mod world helps getting noticed but what I wasn't sure of is do I still draw on paper or through sketch pads for PCs? Also I was curious if any of you knew any mod teams that needed a concept artist. I can also draw real life styled. Ive been searching the internet and some boards on concept artist but none of them seemed to answer those. Any help or direction would be increadibly thanked. I am also looking for anything that can get me some expierence that I won't charge drawlings for. I do not have an online portfolio as our scanner decided to break on us and i had to do an unsespection reformat. Also I just graduated high school and right now feel like I have no direction so please help!
If you're looking for work online, of course you'll need some online portfolio. Otherwise, how would people know your work is good enough for their purpose?
See I draw the style that you use in your avatar. What programs do you guys suggest using? I wasn't sure if I am suppose to use 3Dmax or not as I thought a concept artist just drew them on paper or digitaly and the modeler did all that stuff.Originally Posted by Aerythes

Switching to a program like 3DSmax, Maya or some other 3D program will definitely give you a couple of years of hard work trying to learn such program and master it enough to realize your ideas.
Yes, itīs right, the modeler does his stuff and the concept artist his. That doesnīt mean a modeler/concept artist canīt do both but usually in a larger company all have their specified tasks.
This reply is a bit late and I believe you already has visited the sites -W- recommended, otherwise, do that.
Now at least I have my first post done......
