back again with a new hardcover brown-paper sketchbook i nabbed up while on my visit to see Ringling (even tho i have my heart set to be an elementary teacher).. i still wanting to fantasize being at an art school. so yea did one quick doodle of one of the Drahn time faces.
I dont like white/black charcoal pencils that much.. i think i go overboard.. but i started to get used to them.. just a good 20 pages of practice and i will prob adore them.
somehow some blue is showing. but i didnt use any other color so thats the wonder of the scanner
btw if anyone knows where i can get those sketchbooks online or someone who at Ringling who will arrange sending a few to me lemme know - ry
didnt get the pop from the cheeks i wanted. but other than that.. best hair ive ever done and i got a likeness..

haha u mofo, thats half the page.. finished the other half tonight
nice start. =D
hmmm... it seems like you have a little trouble with lips. in both of these drawings, your lips are a little bit off center, as well as a little bit low.
true about the lips.. i didnt measure either of those and it shows.. atleast the low part for sure. im on a mission trip in the sticks. will have some to show come next sunday - ry
So i lied, but school is in session, senior year of high school.. and sketching everynight so heres a page of a bug and a cowboy both referenced from august 04 national geo.. concious of the lip spacing but not totally satisfied with my use of the charcoal yet.. i really just need some repitition.. take care - ry
pen.. then i went with the charcoal and my NEW BEST FRIEND the ebony pencil anywayz overtop to pull it out.. then pen was sloppy tho, and i think next time it will just be pressing the ebony into it.. but letting a large percentage of the paper still show like here.. as apposed to overworking the best like i have been.. any thoughts?
cowgirl from national geo august 04
roaches are cool and so are cowboys! what does that mean? put them together. just kidding, but it would be cool to see it.
Just doing slight variations in ebony/whitecharcoal/whiteprisma/pen and deciding what i like..
