I often use the lasso tool to create shapes on new layers and then transform them. The problem is that it often leaves an outline of the original shape in place. I originally thought this might be just in the PS doc but it shows up in the jpg too. If you look closely at the sky in this sketch you can see lines across it. Why is this happening and how do I stop it?
This is "normal".
If you want to get ride of these outlines with the lasso tool, you need to create your shape on a new layer and transform the layer; or do a new selection around your shape on the new layer and transform.
It is more time consuming.
An other alternative is to use the freeform Pen Tool with the shape option selected but it is a bit less precise ( due to the recalculated curve ).
