It is glorious for independent artists to print works and produce content, especially if using an existing fanbase.
I did an indiegogo campaign last year for example:
(feel free to poke me about indiegogo campaign questions)
Best site for funding. My friends from Explosm did a very, very sucessfull campaign recently.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...happiness-show (they have a super-massive existing audience though)
I'll be personally attempting kickstarter sometime this year, if they properly introduced funding for Canadian artists. (Last year they only allowed people from USA)
New site that is good for monthly donations.
Useful for ongoing art projects.

I just launched a Kickstarter today and I'm very nervous and excited about it.
I'm making a series of Goblinz coloring books.
Wish me luck.
My Web Site
Thank you, it's 40% funded already, but most of that was at the start so it's going slow now and making me nervous. Still a learning experience either way and very encouraging to see as much interest as there has been.
Only 48 hours to go on my Kickstarter please have a look, support it if you like or tell your friends. Everyone needs a nice coloring book.
Made it! Just barely. I don't know about the rest of you, but my dream is fueled. Take care.
