Character of the Week #326
Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt
Deadline - Sunday, May 19th 10PM GMT
Aretmis, Goddess of the Hunt: An Olympian goddess of contradictions, Artemis is best known as the goddess of the hunt but she is also the protector of animals, fertility, and chastity. Armed with a bow and arrows forged in silver, she prefers to live with her nymphs among the forests. Although she is a hunter, there are no meaningless kills. She protects the women giving birth but strives to protect her own virginity and her followers, so she will show no mercy to anyone who betrays that boundry.
Design Artemis, and include her silver bow and arrows. Use this link for more information on Artemis http://www.pantheon.org/articles/a/artemis.html
- Must be human.
- Must be female.
- This is a greek mythology, but it is open to modern time period. Just make sure to portray a goddess!
- MUST include her silver bow and arrows

I had to look up a tetrad color scheme. If anyone else wants more info here it is:
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the
mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all
science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who
can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe,
is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
thinking a bit about the design...hope the legs and horns aren't too hinuman? D:
I am excited AND nervous! Awesome!
Space knight? Space knight.
Hey all I've been lurking for a while and finally got the courage to submit an entry for CHow. This is what I've got so far. Any feedback is welcome ^_^
The hands... They're the hardest part for me I'll have to fix them, and also the feet. Beyond that there's still a lot to do though! Oh yeah, what do you guys think of the throne? Are all the fixtures too much? I'm worried that it looks a bit cluttered with two pairs of antlers and two bear heads popping out of the sides In case anyone's confused, the bears each have a quiver in their mouth... Is that really weird? I don't know. Thought it was kind of a cool idea.
I would like to make a clarification on the rule regarding the time period. I said it can be more modern, but we still want to see a Greek inspired design.
Im back. And btw, is someone really spamming the forums to warrant the captcha?
Please do drop by to critique and hang out.
After several thumbnails, I landed on this referenced pose. I sketched it out on paper first, now going in to paint it. I just need to make adjustments to the bow, its all funky like.
A little WIP:
Feminine but brutal. Wild but refined.
Gimme more gimme more
Please do drop by to critique and hang out.
Did the hands and the bear heads among other things, still need to do the feet D: They look so off.
Downloaded a couple of textures from cgtextures, gonna use those as reference for the throne, quivers and bow tomorrow. Not sure what to do about the background and shadows
I'm liking all of the pictures so far guys! Yours is my favourite Ded. I like the shape of the antlers and also the bow, it's really cool.
second try, ditched the inhuman elements... really struggling to make her clothes interesting..
I'm quite nervous, but I really want to participate more in those weekly CA activites
So here's my first concept, trying to combine the forest-huntress aspect with the protecor of virginity and fertility part... tough, vulnerable, not too sexy.
Why is it so hard to draw dynamic poses?
I decided to actually do lines this time, I almost never work with them.
I want to change the outfit, its a bit classical at the moment.
My Sketchbook Please take a look, I value all feedback and there may be virtual cookies in it for you.

Nice entries so far. Here's my effort.
Piemonster - I really like the rendering and pose. The face doesn't look feminine enough imo, I think the cheeks and nose are too male looking.
IDP - One word; wow.
Here is my start. Great entries so far. Got a feeling tomorrow I will start again!

This looks like fun, I think I'll join!
I've decided to portray her as a young spry goddess like the nymphs she protects. Plus I figure she is very desirable if she has to fight to protect her virginity and those hot little nymphs in her forest. So I'm taking a kinda sexy "princess mononoke" type direction.
