this is a a monster concept I'm working on since I've got troubles with putting down colors.
I think it's a little bit inconsistent but can't find out why.
Can you suggest me stuff to improve it?
P.S. I can't upload a good quality version because of the size of the image so this is a shared link to the good quality image: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B81m...9wN3l4azQ/edit
I went on with that: http://trez.altervista.org/digitalpa...-colors_03.jpg
There are some improvements, but there's still something I can't catch.
He's a fatso, but we can see his ribs? And his well-defined clavicles/trapezius muscles?
You might also consider his stance. Why is he standing up straight like a soldier? He's a fat ugly monster, it seems like he should teeter or look menacing. Right now he looks at-attention or like a really bored wallflower. I like the concept though, fat blobby monsters are always cool. =)
EDIT: Judging by his nice skirty thing and that white dangling fabric(?) at his side, I guess he might not be a "monster" per se. Perhaps we just need to know more about him to justify his stance. For all I know, he could be a high ranking official in the swelling man military!
And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.
