i recently did this character art...of a soldier
What I immediately notice is the "flatness" of the image (I'm talking about the second one) it doesn't look as though you did a lot of underdrawing or work with perspective. I would like to see progress photos to better judge your process. Secondly the colors are very much off, the values don't give much indication of how the forms of the mountain, character, etc. are defined. For much of the snow you simply put down globs of white, sometimes snow can be completely white but not in this situation. It looks like you are trying to paint a scene that takes place at night, therefore all of the snow would be a duller grey or color depending on how the moonlight hits it. This is just what I first noticed, as I always recommend you should just study, study, study. I hope this helps you out a bit.
well...as for the second one i do agree with that...yeah...the perspective is too wrong in the scene...i will have to work on that!
I'd like to see any updates you make. Do you use any reference photos? That could help with the initial perspective.
a latest work that i finished workin..on character.....gotta a work more...
a scifi character i did late night….
a latest B&W value paint study on a fantasy landscape.
You need to resize these, they are too big. Try and post them so that the whole image fits on the screen without scrolling.
Regarding the characters, it looks like you a trying to paint them quickly and loosely but without a solid foundation on how light affects different materials. Start by keeping it simple, forget about having too many light sources, just concentrate on one main light and the shadows it creates. I'm refering mainly to the soldier head, with the white, yellow, blue and red light sources.
