so...I have had an account in conceptart.org for maybe around 2-3 years now...and still hadn't posted anything. Now it finally seemed like a good time to do so.
First a bit about myself. I am Bulgarian and have graduated Illustration in the UK (awarded 2.1 last year). For all intends and purposes I am self taught and have been drawing for less than 4 years now. Yeah it might sound strange given my degree but for those living in the UK it will come as no surprise. Currently I am a freelance artist who, among other things prefers to draw...well Sci-fi and Fantasy stuff (hardly any surprise there ).
In my art I guess I lack a lot of things, some more often than others, and I hope that the community here and conceptart will help me improve myself. If not...well I am guessing it will be great fun non the less
So, lets start with some recent things and a few sketches. (I will try to update daily depending on how much time I have, and....how much I draw )
Here are a few sketches from the last couple of days. Cant really say there is a theme here, just random doodles in order to keep up practising.
Some landscape thumbnails, about 15 min for each.
and a Wip of something...it needs a lot of work and I should definitely fix a few of the anatomy issues
And here is the finished version...If I have the time I will do a short step by step
You seem to be lacking in the head development department. I'd suggest studying from Andrew Loomis's Drawing the Head and Hands, which you can find for free here.
Hi there and thank you for your comment. I must admit the drawings I have here hardly present a good development of the head of facial features. However I mostly stray from the overly realistic and try for a more stylised or semi cartoonish style. Andrew Loomis's books are definitely a god read and I do used them from time to time for referencing, however I do prefer using photos or other artist's works as a source of inspiration and if needed referencing (Digital Art Masters for example ). I will do some more realistic head sketches in the following days in order to show some diversity of style (I do actually admit I haven'd done any of these in quite a while )
I really love your sci-fi machine designs .They're simply cool
wow, what I love about your stuff is you can go really technical but your figures still have great gestural qualities too. Fantastic.
Thank you for the comments! (:
The last week was...lets just say exhausting....had to do a 3D model in 3 days (+ 1 for sketching) and it turned out to almost be more than I can handle.
Here are some of the concept sketches I did.
The faces for some reason are a bit distorted....seems like scanning didn't do them any favours, non the less...here they are
And the final concepts
I will most probably be able to put the 3D model in here as well after it is viewed.
sweet stuff, love the witch designs. sorry i can't give any advice, i'm just a beginner/noob
And here is the model itself. It was rejected due to the very obscured reason of not being anatomically correct....It was a funny comment given that I had 3 days to make the model and texture it...and the only specification given, when I asked what it should be like was- Just do a Witch (Baba Yaga) ....and that was it. I could have done a cartoon style one for all I care...so yeah
Really liking some of your character designs. Good start to a sketchbook

Thank you Papu, I really like your sketchbook-some amazing progress in a very short amount of time!
And here are...a few...space ship designs. I've started work on a new projects so I am doing a lot of sketching...none that I can show unfortunately.So....I have decided to start doing daily sketches again-done on a Yiynova Graphic 10.1 tablet (Its pretty much a Cintiq but with a crappier pen...and at a 1/3 of the price )
So yeah-spaceship sketches:
Hopefully I will be able to do at least a few every other day (lets face it....cant really do too much every day )
So...been busy working..but here is something i did in my spare time
It has been some time since I last posted Work still has me occupied, hopefully I will have some of my drawing to show...next month when the game I've been working on ships In the mean time here are a few drawings
