Hello, i've actually had an account here for two years and basically never posted...which is partly due to the fact i haven't really drawn anything in about two years. So i'm actually trying to get back on it now that i have time again. My eventual goal is to work on a comic which is already written and ready since a while ago, but i'm unwilling to work on it due to the fact that i feel so behind.
The first thing bugging me is that i've never done any real active poses. Before my drawings were stationary or portraits not much more than an "A" poses pretty much. This simply won't do, so to get past that i'm trying to push myself to do poses i've never drawn before. Before that though i did some reading on anatomy through an imaginefx magazine i'd bought on zinio, and then after about a week till today i started sketching some poses using a light bit of what i learned and sketched.
For now i'm mostly concerned with proportion, pose, foreshortening and perspective . the specific muscle stuff i'll focus on later, i want to get rid of my habit of static poses and get a feel for movement or dramatic poses. i'm happy with basic forms for now. Anyway here's some of what i've done today.
The first is the 'pre kick ' image which is what i started with today, the next is the 'post kick' and the last which i finished a moment ago is the punch. I'm kind of winging it for what feels good so far, i used my own body as a reference.
i'm sure i'll get better in time but any comments so far.
