Does anyone know specifically what kind of paint Gerhard Richter was using in the new documentary about his work? There was a scene with his assistants pushing paint through cheesecloth. It's said to be "Oil on canvas". I've never seen oil paint prepared like that.
Seems like a good overview of at least a portion of his processes. Really interesting stuff.
I really like Gerhard Richter's work. I think he has an incredibly diverse catalog of work, and he is very original. And his photo-realistic paintings are more interesting than any other photo-realist paintings I've ever seen.
