Hey Waronmars, im really seeing the improvement, have you tried life drawing? if not, go for it! Drawing from pictures is good but learning to draw from life is a challenge. The reason being is that pix are already flat, meaning there is no depth of 3dness like from life. Drawing from life will force you to convert what you see in 3d to 2d. I see you worked on values earlier, keep up at it and try it out on life drawing. It does not have to be people, but it could be objects like tv, cd player etc will do fine. Maybe a page or two a day could be a start. Btw your last two concepts are looking good. All i can say is keep it up, good that you are posting even if there are no responses for a while (haha happens to me too but its okay)

Say no to drawing from photos... okay, I'll draw a bunch from life, that should help with perpective and all those exciting facets of art. :dead3:
Very poor effort today...

Will endeavour to do more than half a page in future.. :dork:

Hey again, good to see that you are life drawing, now for somethign else for me to pick at (:< am i annoying you even more now? haha well all i can say is, make your drawings bigger. As in, maybe 3 drawings of a hand on one page, taking up the entire space. I used to draw a bunch of little drawings but then i forced myself to draw bigger and somehow i felt much better about my drawings. keep drawing! :barf: :pumpkin:

Today I made a special effort to draw lots, so take a peek, plebs.
Drawn in art class.

General doodats, some from yesterday.

Done tonight.

Ladylioness- Are you stalking me?
Mr.JC- Thanks alot, glad that SOMEONE appreciates all my effort :mumble: :hh: Serious, it's cool that randoms can see it, it's hard when you look see everything so often that it blurs. Chemistry is bit slow, but maybe that's because I'm a real ultimate genius.

van...who said I was joking? :mischief:

Might as well learn something while you're here. Here's what a pleb is, know that you are one in my eyes. :mischief:
_______
plebeian

adj 1: of the common people of ancient Rome; "a plebeian magistrate" [ant: proletarian, patrician] 2: of or associated with the great masses of people; "the common people in those days suffered greatly"; "behavior that branded him as common"; "his square plebeian nose"; "a vulgar and objectionable person"; "the unwashed masses" [syn: common, vulgar, unwashed] n : one of the common people [syn: pleb]

Busy day today AGAIN, when the hell did I get all these commitments? School 'social' tonight, we got stuck with it instead of a semi formal. Tell me this isn't bad, and I will love you... :alien5: :mumble: Oh well, my horse is back in shape, so maybe a pic of her will tide you over with mars goodness...

Awwwww, isn't she cute. :cat; :cat; :cat;
I enlarged the brand to prove to A woman at the studbook that she was indeed a registered horse, and was not indeed dead, as she was telling me. I saw the damn beast yesterday ma'am, I pay for it's every need, and your telling me it's dead? Uh...Okay. *buries live horse*

My one woman mongol horde has returned, and with it comes some sketches...

It's my fantasmagorical concept for a guy who got his arms and legs blown off or cut off somehow, so he's just a torso and a head. Anyway, he gets a robosuit made for him by someoneorother, and becomes a janitor. :alien4: What a great story. Is it too early to whisper Oscar?

As I said before, your progress is quite evident. The definitely some life in these last sketches of the limbless man. I'd say take some time with a single drawing and really put all you've got into, every once in awhile, amidst the sketches (advice I need to take myself actually). I'd like to see what you can do when you really push yourself.

Don't have any realy crits cause I'm no accomplished artist myself, so I'll just say do some more anatomy. From what I've seen thus far people spot imperfections in anatomy more than any other facet of art. I guess we're just so used to our own bodies that it's almost instinctual to see if something's "off".

This is what I've been using in addition to Bridgman's stuff: Gray's Anatomy

Keep going!

Kitty cat inspiration.

*Arches fingers* Eeeexcellant...soon I will pwn all! MuaHAHAHAH!
Oh, right. Replies.
Liamc: Danke. Danke very much.
I_am: Thanks for your continued interest and advice, drawing larger is something quite a few people have told me to do. It would be good to compare to earlier attempts at a more polished drawing too, I think. I actually have a hard copy of gray's anatomy that I flogged from doctor mum, but van smacked me right in the face for drawing from other drawings. I guess the only thing is to pick up ye olde photo refs of nudes. Or find a nude. Hey! Maybe I'll go to a nude beach!

Hey, thanks for stopping by my sketching grounds....

I went through your whole thread and you are improving steadily... good to see. If you have photoshop, you may want to take your pencil scans in there and go to image-adjustments-levels-auto levels. Some of them I cant even see on my monitor. If the nude beach thing is a no go, you may wanna check into a community college nearby if there is one. I think most offer pretty cheap life drawing classes...

Anywho, keep on keeping on...

Good colors on your spider-girl *cough*

I think it is amazing that you draw that much.
Maybe you should work a bit more on accuracy though.
Don't try to draw humans accurately enough that they look like humans.
Really draw accurately. Correct mistakes.
And I think you should draw bigger.

Keep it up.
