Hey all, I've been a member for a little while and been a bit scared to post. I'm an 18 y/o student from England. Decided I have to man up eventually, hopefully improve some more and have some epic progress to look back upon in a couple years criticism appreciated!

Digital piece is quite old now, this is more recent. Other newer stuff needs to be re-sized so I'll post when I get around to it.
Welcome to ConceptArt.org. I waited for a long time before posting as well (did it the first time last week ), so I guess we are both new to the family
I like the futuristic and a bit crazy stile of your pictures. Nice start!
Here is some advise (If you need some ) based on my own experience:
If you want to improve, I would recommend to study some basics, like the human anatomy and the proportions (The proportions of the robot have some issues).
I don't know if it will help you, but I will try to explain my problems dealing with creatures and my experience so far: I am tending to draw humanoid creatures. At least I did a lot of them during the last years. After being honest to myself and my work I realized two things:
1)The main reason for drawing humanoid creatures was my lack of knowledge how the different animal species and their anatomies work. So actually I was not able to do a creature-dog. Every time I tried, a humanoid-dog came out.
2)I like the human body a lot and this was the second main reason for drawing the humanoid creatures. But the problem was: i didn't know how the human body works either...
So I realized: all my creatures were not "correct" because of my lack of knowledge in understanding how things work in nature.
I started to do a lot of human body studies (Andrew Loomis is really nice for that) and will continue doing them for a long time I guess. The thing is: the human proportions are so dominant in all the works we are creating. Thatswhy my guess is: you have to learn it someday anyway...so why not now?
And for more animal-based creatures I try to start with some basic studies (if I want to have a creature based on a horse, I will study the basic anatomy of the horse and try to understand what the typical things are, which make me realize that it's a horse I'm looking at and not a dog...). And after understanding that I will try to change and modify these things and create my creature.
After doing this for a while my own "anatomy-library" will become bigger and bigger and I will be able to use all that knowledge for my following works...

Very true! I think I had the opposite problem haha I find humans more difficult than animal forms at the moment (not including winged creatures)

Quite inspired by Sinix's videos with these. I'll post most recent few pages next (as in work done within the last week).
Most recent sketchbook pages the skull's a still life, tried out some small environments for a little change of pace. There are also ideas for my 'wurm' teen challenge entry that I didn't get around to submitting. Then the most recent page last is trying out the new Letraset markers I bought, they're really neat! I drew the outline of a dead tree and tried to turn it into different things. The 'hellish beast' is also a possible creature idea for the weekly thing.
Try setting up some still lifes and drawing them.

Hey Dude! Welcome to CA, this is the best place to really get your work to the next level. So, i really recommend you to take part on the community activities, like Creature of the week, etc. I will tell you what a member called Sean McClain told me a while ago:
"If your on your own do the weekly challenges in the community activity sections, Chow, EOW...I look at doing those like playing chess with someone ten times as good as me...I will lose a million times until I win....but If I play with someone just as good as me or worse a million times and win half the time which path will bare more fruit???
so in other words think in the long run."

You're studying but not really looking. The proportions of the bones in canine/feline/equine species are not ape-like. You need to pay a lot more attention to these details if you want to create creatures that are diverse and make sense.
But your humans are coming along well -the heads are usually too big but there's good motion. As for your painting/coloring: Shadows are a lot more expressive when they are simple but consistent shapes than if they're complicated but scribbled. Just keep that in mind. The Master Study is extremely good though -keep posting!

Like what kevin_ said - I would practice your line quality: try making as many different marks as you can in one drawing. Try alternating drawing with the tip and side of the pencil to get different kinds of lines.

Haha funny you say that, s'kinda why I did the ink study! It's a bit of a bad habit because most of the time I use ballpoint pens (most of the stuff up there's in biro) so shall try pencil/ink more thanks for the crit and for visiting!
Car sketch, sketch on reverse of some marker bleed through and some shoes in ink. I've rekindled my love for cars through watching people draw them and realizing I could totally do that shoes were because I had to draw a heel on the spot for an interview last week and the form of it felt really nice (that sounds kinda weird but yeah, totally understand why so many people love fashion design now).
This is stuff to keep me drawing everyday...really need to get some finished pieces done or I'm going to stagnate. Anyway back to uni things.
