Pixeltuner - first thumbnail looks inviting
I couldn't decide whether to do a view from the inside, or a view from the outside.
Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.

edit you just posted while i posted.....this is for the post #10:
@Pixeltuner, great! if you don´t mind an opinion, i think the brushstroke feeling in the thumbnails were very appealing but is lost in the more polished version. Mostly the hard and very defined edges of the cilindrical plates of the structure of the front are looking too much controled and unnatural.
Booton line, and imo, if you follow the path of the brushstroke feeling with insinuations of stuff instead of very controled definitions of stuff, you will do even better than now. Is not like you can´t define anything either...i hope i´m making some kind of sense here
In this new one is looking more natural but composition and depth wise, the first one is better imo.
Anyway, inspiring stuff!

elephant: Yeah you're right, something got lost in the translation, I might have to work more on the thumbnail and blow it up later on.
so continued on with my first idea a bit.
also I tried 2 alchemy experiments.
crits and helpfull suggestions very appreciated right now ^^

@ pixeltuner: can u post a quick tutorial on how you do thumbnails like that? It'll be really useful for guys like us.
interesting thumbs btw.
@daflom: thanks man. going through that thread now. seems pretty good.
Coool brain, ashess: I can make a short tutorial on that. I actually started a livestream channel today, but Procaster crashes on me so I need to fix that first but then I can do a short video on that if you guys like.
Daflom: I don't do it with custom shapes, haven't even used it but I'll check it out, looks interesting
EDIT: I checked out Sparth's method and it's a bit more structured then what I do and there's a bit more work in creating the shapes I think. There's a bit more of a random element in what I do at first

I've never done anything underwater so this looks kinda bad. I'm not really sure how to make the colours work, I'll probably try to fix these a bit more and then go for a totally new piece when I figure out them a bit more. I kinda want to do an interior though, this looks so... normal.
Ok guys here's the thumbnail tutorial vid, it's actuallly my first one ever so be gentle. My computer had a bit of a problem with capturing the screen being a bit slow while painting but I hope you get something out of it.
And if you like it, by all means share and spread the word.
It's in two parts:
EDIT: And here's the image from the tutorial, it's a bit small at times on the vid.

that's looking great!I listened to the first, but I'm gonna go step by step tomorrow.
thanks dalfon too for the link, there are done with the method described there.
PixelTuner thanks a lot for the vids, i watched the first part and i learned a lot from it. Very valuable stuff.
Watching those vids plus the link of Sparth posted before by daflom made my week (maybe month) in terms of learning cool stuff.
