Hello all! I'm currently a junior at FSU and am trying to focus my art degree towards building skills that would be best used in concept art, specifically for game companies.
Unfortunately, my art department isn't one that gets super specialized in career classes, so those of us with goals like mine have to tailor the classes we take to fit our means. As a game concept artist, I understand that I should have strengths in figure and anatomy as well as being able to draw/paint landscapes/architecture. Being able to do this in digital and traditional mediums goes without saying.
What I want to know (from anyone who's worked in the industry) are there other art skills I would do well to develop? Do you have any suggestions as far as what mediums I should perfect more than others?
Thanks in advance for any feedback
Yes, you need to know how to design.
I haven't yet, though I intend to get as many of her classes as possible!
