update - removed the mask, but still missing a vital 'sirene'-ish identifying feature IMO
Kerah, I think it would fix that problem to make something alluring about her..she is holding a violin, but maybe she could be playing it or have something more magical looking about the violin. I like the bony hands and shoulder fins. Why did you remove the mask though?
...and still...I`m not feeling it. Or, better yet, allowing myself the luxury of "not feeling it", ugh...-___-`

so heres a reeeealy fast sketch i did to visualize an idea.
The concept is an angler-fish siren that pursuades men by hypnotizing them and making them focus on the very pretty female face on the end of its tail and then eats them (forgot to add the hanging boobs)
PS:i dont know why but i think im still missing a chow star, maybe i did something wrong

ded, wooow! I love the second picture - her face and her legs are awesome! You should ginish it anyway))
Too traditional .... I'll have to give it another try.
"Creativity emerges only when the imagination is given the freedom it deserves."
I like the attitude and the design of your siren.
I think the overall mod is very nice. I think you could let the fish scales folow the form of the tail.
Very nice . Its more scary without the eyes.
I like that you take the topic a bit further. Curious to see where it ends.Great
I went with a creature that has a thorax that approximates a human female. The hair helps keep the body wet. The "song" is produced by a blow hole just in front of the eyes. This lures the ship in and the strong tentacles grip the ship and crush it while the small feeder claws stuff the humans into the mouth. I want to put together a technical sheet for this creature. Right now just starting to rough out the beauty shot.
Heres a sketch update, i hope i can finish it tomorrow
Nyurrr... Jumping in late.
I've done a robotic siren before, wanted to try a different approach. She's meant to seem helpless and scared, but she is not quite human once you get up (too) close. Pitch black eyes, clawed hands and scales. Still working on making her more unique/less human, spent the first night on the pose and proportion.
After lurking this site for atleast 2 years I figured I'd benefit more from it if I actually joined in on the fun. Not quite sure if I'll be able to finish this one up, but we'll see!
So behold a quick sketch of the pregnant angler fish zombie squid lady.. thing! Was actually quite hard to not come up with something that wasn't a pinup girl meets mermaid kinda character, so figured I could aswell go abit overboard with the gore.
heres some progress
ded- love your design on the character and the new pose you posted. Not so sure about this last update, though. One of my favorite parts was how the reds contrasted with the pale skin tones and the rich blacks, and I feel like I lose some of that against the blue sky.
JanJager - love her pose and design, the face is awesome.
Gadbury -your new pose is excellent
Pxeltuner - her shape is wonderful, and she's pretty creepy. Part of me kind of wishes she was looking at the viewer, but that's not really necessary - this piece is pretty fantastic as it is.
Ruseveld - Her face is adorable, but I think I prefer the attitude of the sassier sketches you have in your sketchbook. Awesome start.
My efforts from this weekend:
