Ok, you have a 250 million dollar budget, complete access to all and any talent you see fit for the roles. You have all locations at your disposal with complete choice in what companies you want to work with.
And you have to make the next block buster in three years.
Plus, the film has to come from an existing franchise.
What film would you make?
First of all i would make a alien5 showing more of the planet and whatnot.
AND THEN i would make.
Ive always wanted to see charlie sheen in a predator movie so im going to throw him in the lead character and his dad (martin sheen) to be teh evil doer millitary dude trying to catch one of the peddos.
Half-life: TEH MOVIE
and and and and the list goes on.
crash--charlie sheen as the lead in predator 3..lol
very good question presence
i think i would have to make either
1.) a beowulf flick--but have it run the gammet of his life--up until the final battle with the dragon (make it better than eaters of the dead--we dont ahve enough viking movies)
2.) i would be really tempted to redo the new star wars flicks:p ( you too matrix)
3.) id love a stab at a batman flickand a wolverine flick
a punisher flick (oooh!! batman vs. wolverine. vs punisher..YES!!! itll make gazillions!!! and have the entire battle take place in a theme park after hours....and they could fight eachother while riding the rides...well...its still a WIP
4.) a new conan flick!!! BY CROM!!!
thats all i got for now

If I had to make a Blockbuster of a film, I would have to go with a movie tied to A Nightmare Before Christmas. Maybe a film about Halloween Town as a whole. If I could make any film I wanted, I'd want to make a documentary following a band like Rancid or A.F.I. on the road for a while.
Hmm.. Zombie movies have always been my sweet, sweet, necrophelia love.
5 parts Dawn of the Dead
2 parts 25 Days Later
1 part Resident Evil
Prepare with Water
Enjoy senseless mass destruction and chaos.
The scene at the end of Resident Evil was amazing. Where the main character is standing in the city block with complete destruction all around...awesome.
The movie premise would be that a virus is manufactured (Resident Evil) from a European or Asian country, and sent off to North America. In a desperation attack, North America sends out a complete bombardment of Europe and Asian, destroying the continents completely. As the situation develops, nuclear missles and chemical warfare would be launched all around the world, basically destroying everything.
Then the story would follow a character as he is making his journey across the Rocky Mountains towards California. On his way along the Colorado River, he finds a fort system has been set up on the Grand Canyon, protecting the few last survivors armed with guns in their Trailer trucks and make-shift cabins.
And none of this fast zombie/smart zombie bullshit from 28 Days Later. Slow, Stupid, and bent only on EATING BRAINS.
The life of Buddha. Or something. With action figures.
Power is nothing without intelligence.
I'd have sex with Charlize Theron and not leave her any cab money.
Ok that was a joke.
a shit-ass scary movie about a ghost person that only lives in mirrors in a big house where he was killed by fire ( for the looks) and some teenies stay there overnight (but not by accident) and that ghost person comes at the most unexpected moments and brings them all into his mirror world to kill them.what would make this movie so good beside scary action is that i wouldn't show the ghost person as often and detailed as possible, but to leave it in the shadows as much as possible.
as he only lives in reflections and isn't actually there, this will cause some extremely uncomfortable situations both for the audience and the teenies.(imagine one teenie stand in front of mirror and then she sees ghost person in door, but when turning around he isn't there and then he comes closer and closer and she can't do anything but be scared etc.)
dunno about the actors, but some nice chicks are a must.
edit:woops, forgot the existing franchise part.oh well, better produce something new anyway.

Carnifex: When I read that, I immediately thought of four teenagers sleeping in a large room, and the screen being pitch black. After the screen shows black for like 10 seconds, it flashes like an orange color, and then goes black again. Then you hear the teenagers saying things like "what the hell was that".
Damn, keep this thread alive!!!
another situation in the movie:
the teenies have discovered one's gone and debate in a big living room with heavy curtains what to do. as they're talking, one goes to the window with the heavy curtains. he grabs one, pulls it aside and in the window reflection the horrible ghost person appears with a horrible scream.
mos: sounds like an interesting scene also
we'd need dan to make a storyboard
Carni nice work, I can really see this working. But the house would have to have a certain style which allowed for alot of reflective elements,
the cool thing could be that he can't directly harm you either but he can attack your reflection which causes harm to you, kinda metaphysical or he can pull you into the mirror world.
I can see a character just stuck in a corner not allowing their reflection on a mirror across the room and we can see the wood floor being broken up by the ghost's nails raking across the flooring. The character kicks at the floor in fear but his foot slightly shows up in the mirror, cut to an above shot where he is being dragged across the enormous room towards the mirror.
And to think I was going to produce robotech. Lol
hehe-yeah that was pretty much how i imagined it.
in the end only one redhead girly is left, found by the police sitting in some corner babbling "all dead, all dead..." and she is taken away and one final shot of the house with the sun rising.
typical clichée,but it just seems too good to be dropped
i always envision the scene with one girl finding a mirror covered with a cloth, and then the girl lifts it and for some time enjoys her own beauty in it,until suddenly she notices there is someone standing in the doorframe, but only in the mirror, and she watches in fear as the person comes closer, but turning around there is nothing, and she can't decide whether to flee or stay, and backs up to the mirror, until finally a hand IN the mirror pulls her into the mirror...and one sees the happenings only in the mirror.
god i'm babbling too much
hm...I'd have to say I'd make either
1)a Zelda flick but with the animators who did Princess Monoke
2)a street fighter flick focusing on Ryu and Ken, with good actors, and a real story. Why the hell did they focus on Guile? WHY?
3)a movie involving ninjas, the mafia, the undead, angels, and cowboys. The mafia hires out some Canadian lab researching how to bring back the dead. They suceed, the Canadians die, then the Italians. Soon the whole world is being attacked. What's left? The U.S. sends in the elite force of Cowboy heroes and the Japanese with the stealth elite Ninjas. Together they reclaim the world for humanity. Every time they kill a zombie an Angel flies down and brings back the souls of all the zombie killed. So to fix the planet, they must kill EVERY zombie. Meaning it could be a trilogy. YES.
a studio ghibli version of zelda!! hells yea!!

Zelda would own it but you would have to wait another decade until the Alexander, Troy, LOTR, push finally settled a little, then hit em hard with it.
Bottom line....Someone NEEDS to go live action FF7! COULD YOU IMAGINE! 4 movies, back to back, all effects done by square!
I don't need deep movies, I just need a big action packed large scale flick. In games or in movies, whenever I see massive objects falling towards the ground it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. The Chronicles of Riddick trailer did it, the Half-Life 2 in game movie did it, the Painkiller screenshots with that massive boss did it. Something along the lines of the speed seen in the DOOM 3 trailer, with the epic scale of The Day After Tomorrow. Preferably Sci-fi.
It would also require dramatic camera angles, differing color schemes showing differing moods, a fantastic musical score that alternates from being halo-ish to star wars-ish to dark side of the moon-ish to heavy metal-ish. And visual effects that would look great a century from now.
All you people who say you need deep stories in games should go read a book. I want my games fast, fun, and replayable. Open ended or linear, doesn't really matter. Although open ended does tickle me in that special place. (Ignore this whole paragraph)

It'll have a much more solid story than the comics....more character development through dialogue and whatnot.
Mostly it'll be an action flick with some depth(no pun intended, lol)
It'll win oscars for best effects ever, best cinematography, possibly best director.
gotta think more about the story details....but it'd definitely be a hardcore film.
Encouragement keeps me swimming , even in the undertow of disappointment.
Mega Man 2...The Movie!
