I'd love to hear what you think think about these. Mainly I'd like to know where you think they fall short, or if there's something obvious they need... I'm not sure if I should consider them pin-ups or concept character portraits.
Any comments you have would be very welcome.
i wouldnt call these pinups. i think you really need to study anatomy.the first figure specifically has several things wrong with the torso and the arms.
definitely character portraits rather than pinups. I second the anatomy studies, not so much because of anatomy errors though, but because they all seem a little stiff. I don't know if you do gesture drawings much but if you don't, I would suggest doing more to loosen yourself up, because I like the first three otherwise.
I agree with the anatomical studies. Try studying dynamic anatomy specifically. You're poses do look very stiff and staged. knowing the ins and outs of anatomy will help to really push the gesture and give the characters some appeal. It might also help to think up some sort of back story for your characters. Really get to know them. This will help you get ideas into how to pose them and what story to tell with the illustration.
