Hi all. In this thread I'll be posting some of the quick studies and small paintings I do. Hope you enjoy. C&C welcome as always. I'll try to return the favor.
The gourdes were painted with a Zorn palette. I've been learning a lot more about color by working with such a limited amount of colors.
The pear is from a series of still life paintings that I made. I collected scrap paint from other students at the end of each class (paint that would otherwise have been thrown away) and used it to thickly tone a bunch of panels. Once that was dry I painted fruit over it with very thick paint. I was pretty happy with the look of the texture.
And lastly a quick study of an onion with light from a window reflected off the table.
