I've been reading into perspective lately and ive come across these 2 terms. I really dont understand what they mean? Anyone can explain to me what these entail and how similar/different they are from each other?
Mechanical is plotting out horizons, vanishing points, orthogonals etc with a straightedge. Freehand is doing it freehand.

Aesthetically mechanical drawings will be stiff and lifeless unless they are meant for underlay. Freehand gives sketches and drawings a sense of energy. Mostly man made objects need accurate perspective.
