SMILEFACE: thanks man im glad you came back!!!!!!!!! I was wondering what the hell happened!! Its okey still enjoy making fun landscapes for you.
Wanted to practice rendering smoke ended up painting this mess LOL
sketched this idea on the train a few days ago thought i'd implement it, WIP 1
IOW#7 WIP 1
For those looking for brushes i've uploaded all the ones i've collected the past few months:
Struggling but having fun, guess i'll call it a nite . . meditate on the image . . .
A little more progress this morning, might call this done
seeing as i got extra nite shifts ta do which sucks! On the
plus side theres still a few more days before it needs to be submitted.
soon it will be time to go to work
ow and some Bridgman studies, i wonder what he thinks about my art???
Good to see you doing Bridgman, Adrian. Your drawings look pretty good and I can see you're starting to think more in masses. I'm currently going through his stuff too, once again. You always pick up new things from that book.
I'd suggest you try drawing few (gestural) figures from mind or reference afterwards to see what you learned about the masses of the body. Then check back to see what you didn't really get. Repetition is the key.
"You might be disappointed if you fail, but you will be doomed if you don't try"
ismo : exactly! I gotta keep being pro-active and more clinical/critical of what i do. I do try some times with out deliberately setting out to implement past studies its weird it gets ingrained into the mind, example below.
JUST GOT HOME Some sketches on the train heading to work and on the train back from work, bed time now . . . night shift . . . .
Hopefully i have time to make this thing look awesome, this weeks IDW challenge, gotta shut the pc down dam thunderstorm!!!
Again not to much time on my hands!!!! Its unfair!! another IDW wip, its a race against the clock for me
Your sketchbook is really good, and interesting to watch!
Lots of nice tips from various artists. Your artistic workshop still needs a lot of upgrade, but whats important you are noticed. You are not a gray mouse here
Hard to give any advice since you have so many here already But i didn't find any connected with simple watching things, observation, and with visual memory. Since you got a work, you spend probably a lot of time unable to draw - when you can't draw it may be useful to focus from time to time on training visual memory. Just watch interesting place, or peoples and try to remember them how much detailed as possible - than after come back to home you can try to reconstruct them on paper, or in the PS from imagination but its optional, most important is just to train visual memory.
Its pretty hard but, from other hand it can help a lot with later drawing, and paintings. I think that ability to focus properly is the key!
Keep on good work, and good luck on your learning patch!
tsabu: Thanks man thats really kind of you, and i do from time to time look at many things on the way to work or what not, and see how light travels and looks like mainly values. More observation is a good tip.
SO this is the best i could do in five or less hours
great to know you're trying to pull off your own ideas ^^ just a quick comment in the last one the perspective looks odd, shouldn't the front and the rear wheel be aligned?
andres333: first off thank you for visiting my page I'm honored! With the perspective issue you are right BUT in my defense the turning off this motorbike is done with the back wheel and i tried to demonstrate that by leaving it slightly off, i did show thats its turned thru the concentric circles inside the wheel (rim - i think thats what its called the tyre housing?. yellow part)
I think even then it would still be in line, your right.
So I've been procrastinating today. . . .
Hey,thanks for taking the time to write a comment on my sketchbook.Your stuff looks really good!
This weeks chow, not time too many commitments but this is where my mind was heading anyways.
Quite a funny thing trying to draw yourself using your imagination.
eh man thx for stopping by my sketchbook.
I see you have an INSANE work-ethic. I love it, how many challenges do you do each week? You're all over the boards, I must say I personally like your "U boat Parasite" concept, very original ideas bro.
lol I did that same Bridgeman neck study (135)
Obacmar:really just depends on how much time i have.
But i like to attempt them all and go for the ones with the most promise.
Some quickies today
Feeling a little demotivated due to my skill level and lack of time
SO some Loomis studies, sketches from work + a foto study of a photo i took after work at the tram stop at 6:19am.
at first : thx man! we all have potential we MUST work hard to make it come true
s__s hope u dont get mad, u have a dirty style and its great! tons of texute lines and etc.
If I could say something that I think would help... try to work through the figure.. George brigman is REALLY good.... bbuuutt... I think his book was more about planes and it help alot to paint and to visualize D: but to handle the figure try michael hampton and glen vilppu
XD hope u dont mind XD last constructive crit I did for another made he got mad haha .
"What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing." Oscar Wilde
Keep up the hard work, your doing great.
I really agree with Fernteixeira, Vilppu and Hampton are they way to go for figures from the mind. I'm learning from Sheldon Boreinstein right now who was a student of Vilppu, and Boreinstein now teaches at Disney as well as my school. Vilppu is straight up amazing, one of the great living artists. Look into him and Michael Hampton.
Fernteixeira: thanks man, nah i aint pissed off, you can say whatever you like i prefer it that way.
bobmeatbag: to kind to kind
Jonathan C: i think all these guys use a structure. procedure based approach,
i got loomis i got Bridgman and after viewing the other guys yous mentioned it all
seems very similar to each other. Thanks tho.
SMILEFACE: Thank you. i will just gotto get past this speed bump, i hate exams!!!!
Some mood setting ambiance
Me Gots two exams next week and extra shifts at work as well
so i gotta sacrifce my passion for these other things. so a 10 day absence.
This weeks COW Wip 1 no way i can finish this if i wanna pass my exams
To busy to paint because of examinations, Well some work done on the train back and forth, mostly imaginative stuff and one or two older sketches not posted earlier.
