So, I've been out of school for a year soon and I've built an online portfolio which I try to keep clean and updated with contents related to my field of choice.
Thing is, everything I produce isn't always portfolio friendly. I like to doodle pinups, unoriginal stuff, fanart, not to mention my personal style is unfit for video games/film. Since I choose my real name as a portfolio address, I've been thinking about turning my deviantart/blog/other online gallery (which are under the alias freiheit) into a more casual zone where I can dump everything I don't find fit for a portfolio.
My question is, how separate should I keep my casual galleries and professional one? Would an Art Director be offended if they'd trace one back to the other? Should I never mention in one or the other that I have an other gallery? Would people feel cheated? Should I link in my casual gallery to my portfolio but not the other way around?
I don't want to do porn, but I'd love to indulge in shamefully kitsch art and simply not care whether what I'm doing is oriented towards the kind of work I want.
