At the top of this page I had several things in mind I could put into a crit or advice for you but by the time I got to the bottom you had fixed most of those things already. Your edges, values and atmospheric perspective have all been improved significantly and your perspective was already pretty solid. I'm unsure what kind of advice to give you now. So I'm just going to say keep going and I'm looking forward to more of your work

wow so much progress
September 5th, 2013, 02:15 PM
JackGriffin - Thanks! Still tons and tons of stuff to learn I guess, but nonetheless, it keeps getting more and more exciting too
jondawo - Thanks mate! Yeah, it's a page of some big personal progress for me and it's probably the least update page in the whole sketchbook - so there are huge time gaps in between (concept art org was down for quite a while and pretty much unstable at that time). I'll keep updating
HannesD - Thanks! Those enviros keep me going, they're fun to do. Next thing to tackle (not because I mastered enviros, but because this is my weak point ) - interiors and urban enviros.
So, a small update -
September 7th, 2013, 04:37 PM
The interior is a concept art piece. Interiors are really hard to pull off and I keep getting stuck and having to figure stuff out. The other one might become a poster soon, I don't know why! It's the reality of things!

Quick drawing from this morning-
And a spaceship drawing from yesterday that I forgot to upload.
Going strong with the consistent updates, yes!
September 10th, 2013, 06:33 PM
Fantastic progress! Your color choices are really snazzy in a lot of the pieces on the previous page, namely the knight in the forest and the guy with the hammer saying "Hi!" Excellent stuff there. Would love to see some sharper edges and brush strokes, and maybe some more targeted studies, but all in all, great work in here. I hope to see more!

Vlad is aiming for the stars
I gotta update more frequently too XD
September 11th, 2013, 07:01 AM
You've got some really cool stuff here. That Wheel of Time painting you did a while back is really kickass! Really love how saturated and alive all the colors are in your work
Keep it up! I'll be watching
September 12th, 2013, 04:07 PM
Xaiquiri - Hey, thanks for teaching me a new word! Snazzy. Now that's a useful one too
I'm working on figuring out edges and just practicing that, I get too fuzzy at times. I thank you for your support friend
Sushy - Thanks Suz You should definitely update more often like you used to daily.
Tristan Berndt - Thanks Tristan, much appreciated! I sometimes over-saturate things, but I appreciate it for liking that drawing (most people thought it was worse than the original I did before).
Anyway, a small update. Been working on brush economy (saves times, things might look better) and getting my values straight in my composition. Hard but I'm satisfied. At last, satisfaction
I'm really motivated to do studies just keeping my drawing hour toll high. My significant other gives me strength and advice and my goals are clear and I'm making every step count. None of that undefined work pattern I was doing before, stumbling in the dark and drawing without a purpose and pretty much hoping to improve this way.
Definition helps, at least it helps me. I can see the steps to my goals.
Hopefully I'm doing the right thing and if not I'll correct my ways.

Updates on my personal stuff
Started studying concept-art at a local college in Tel Aviv, so far so good. Pretty satisfied. Most of it is personal hard work, hope you enjoy
October 12th, 2013, 12:51 PM
Who's that hot stuff you drew there hurrrhurrrhurrr
Anyway I really have to stream again, I think I will try to do it this week. If I don't have too much work.
Anyway, great work Vlad, you really discovered the quick painting I guess
How is the school going?
I just got out of school I am really tired now. It was fun though, nice to be away and just draw for an assignment XD
October 17th, 2013, 10:05 AM
Sushy - Keep going steady with the streams, they're fun to watch
A cloud studies, some Craig Mullins studies and some other stuff-
October 18th, 2013, 03:01 PM
Cool assassin characters there, Vlad

Character design lessons for real
Thanks Chad, always happy to see your comment on my stuff
All right, some college homework and personal stuff. Working on character design classes.
The boat is a one hour speedpaint for a group on dA. Pretty fun, feels like I'm really getting better at this
October 25th, 2013, 03:35 AM
Dude, you've got really great vision! Keep at it
November 12th, 2013, 04:09 AM
Kathleen - Thanks! Vision is fine, need more skill
All right, these updates are mostly rushed, (not even) half brained stuff. There is an orthography of a character for school, I changed her anatomy slightly, will later update with the current anatomy (hopefully when the whole character sheet is done).
Enjoy and thanks for any comment you might leave
November 12th, 2013, 12:18 PM

whassup with that smoking dogg XD
pretty loose style you are developing here
November 13th, 2013, 03:19 AM
Hey I really like the last 3, the dog, the castle and bazooka dude
Very cool and funny
November 13th, 2013, 05:18 AM
Nice character, Vlad! She looks fun. Very colorful work all around.
November 18th, 2013, 05:00 AM
Them replies to awesome people -
Suz - Thanks, doing good
It was a speedpaint piece for a group on facebook, titled 'mad dog' lol.
I'm going to tighten this loose style, lol.
Kathleen - Thanks Kathleen! They were experimental stuff, pretty fun
Chad - Thanks bro. I'm updating on her in this post.
Anyway, an update!
First serious assignment for college, character design. I finished this on time without delaying it to the last day! Woo, I'm not really the slacker I thought I am. *dance*
All right, so there is the orthography for the character (Tulip - the Irish Red Riding Hood of sorts). I excluded her biography and traits, but she definitely has some written by me.
Also, a few facial expressions and poses for the character. It was a really hard assignment, with lots of feedback that made me change her back and forth. Not 100% happy, but I have to move on to do other stuff!
I did discover Manga Studios while doing this assignment and I can see lots of potential for me with that software. Easier to work with in several regards.
I also did an another assignment for college. Shot design, theme : Frankenstein's Lab. Development from thumbnail to a fully fleshed out linework of the scene. I really like this because I never did such an intricate linework design based off a thumbnail (or anything really) before.
The other two drawings are just silly things
See ya next update!
November 18th, 2013, 06:10 AM
Hey, mate! Had a lot of fun going through posts of your sketchbook! You have so many great characters and settings! Keep up the good work!
November 23rd, 2013, 05:20 PM
assumzaek - Thanks for the support mate! More to come, of course
A humble update. Colored the line version from the previous post, I thought it was the final version - but apparently I got some critiques from fellow students and a teacher from college. So, more work is required. Mostly minor stuff.
Also adding a little sketch. This is a small update, I know.
November 25th, 2013, 10:37 AM
OMG YOU'RE A SCIENTIST?!!??! I saw that one funny post early on your thread of the guy asking, but ya I had to say that.
Also, oh what a rich mind you have. All your work is like a breath of fresh air. They are all so unique from one another.
Feels very adventurous !
November 25th, 2013, 12:58 PM
Whoa, great work Vlad. Looks like a really convincing environment. Keep rockin it... cause you are, you know.
December 2nd, 2013, 06:40 AM
