So I know that this probably isn't up to par with some of YOUR work, but I'm pleased with it. This is my 3rd (and best) attempt at sculpting a Humpback Whale. I'm fascinated with these magnificant animals and have so much fun trying to create them. I try to keep the body parts within scale, but to be perfectly honest I'm finding it almost impossible. I'm taking a 40-50' long animal and trying to recreate it in just inches! It's hard to do, but still as I said I'm pleased with it.
This entire piece including the corals was handmade by me out of super sculpey. To create this, I made the base and then I baked and painted it. Next I created the whale and pressed it onto the base and rebaked it. Once it cooled I painted the whale and then touched up the base. This was the best way I could think of since I need to make sure the whale will have enough support beneath it.
That's about it. I hope you like it! I'd love to hear some feedback and pointers. My main area of trouble is doing the eyes. If any of you could offer some advice it would be appreciated.
I think it looks great ! I also love whales....great job on the coral too.
Don't be afraid to post your work here....everyone of us are still learning, and most are more than willing to help....
