im trying to find a sculpting turntable, i used to have one at a company i used to work for it would be metal on a bearing and about 10-12 inches across i found something similar http://www.newlazysusan.co.cc/metal-...an-turntable/2 but its made of plastic.
the main points i need are that its metal and has a smooth turning action and that its low profile (the one im useing at the moment is like 8 inches high)
im also in the uk so the cost of shipping is importent
does any one know of anything like this?
I have found turn tables a bit hard to come by, metals ones even more so. I made my own for about $9 with 2 wooden discs and a turn table bracket from a hardware store. Been using it for years and it hasn't let me down. I know some people that use the lazy susans from Ikea. They are pretty cheaply made though and have a gap for tools to roll under and get lost; nothing pisses me off more.

I just purchased this:
It does have the 'disappearing tool' problem that dark_wraith mentioned, but for £11 I can hardly complain.
Seems to work well enough.
What's up? Going to Comic-Con this year? I know that's a lot of flying across the pond.
Check this link out.
I got a bearing ring from here and made my own. Pretty good for the price low profile like 5mm ish.
I also have the lazy susan from ikea and Darkwraith is right, it's annoying and not that sturdy either.
Hope that helps
i think i may have found exactly what im looking for, im a bit short of funds but as soon as i get it i will post a picture (yeah i know posting pictures of tools is kinda sad but i dont care) i found it by googaling pottery whirlers so thanks for that venger..... i often find it funny how words you dont think of can show up some interesting stuff on google.
jerrod i wish i could get out to comic con this year but im realy hard up at the moment for international travel i do have plans to come out again next year with a new pholio full of stuff thats why im looking for some new bits for sculpting.your table will be one of my first stops when i get out there.
