I found some copic markers... and sme other funky types, but lo... I must confess I stocked up on trias. (you may like to know that the lid of the one i had already had come off in my bag ) but you can usually remedy the problem by just leaving the pen standing, with the dry end at the bottom, I love the brush part of them...
Niiiice, visited the tate and the natural history museum... you should have seen the gemstones exhibit... and this kid was being sick! Mental! (or not...)
Ha Pea Noo Yeha!
Question of the day:
Does anyone know of a particularly cheap online supplier of Sculpey 1lb blocks and sculpey III 20z blocks ? I've been trying to do a bit of google research but needle and haystack syndrome set in, so I thought Id ask the other uk bods before I place my order.
I normally buy it from the uni shop but I need more NOW!!! (or at least ASAP)
P.S My womble traps were all empty when I checked but we did manage to secure ourselves a "Flirting Dragon King" instead woop woop!
Kars & Co
PO Box 272, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP18 9YX - Tel:01844 238080
thats like... within bus distance to me...
http://www.inspirationhouse.co.uk/shop/index1.html theres that...
But not being one to sculpt, or at least not being one to sculpt with anthing more than pants clay from school I couldn't say, hope it helps.
I did think about womble hunting... but then I stopped. it involved cheese graters making shower units...
Lincoln Inns field (Holborn tube station)
Feb 8th. 5.30pm onwards
Hope that helps!
Jon: Haven't got any, soz ;P
whats your embarrasing story jon ? *grin*
I reckon - nothing happened in new year.
Its christmas parties you'd be wanting....
I fell asleep on someones bottom? thats as good as it gets for me...
Thanks for the sculpey advice guys, I got 2 1lb super sculpey blocks and 3 x 2oz sculpey III blocks for £26 inc p&p in the end which I guess is a fairly reasonable price, considering some places sell it for £10 a block! :-o
I unfortunately have no embarassing x-mas/new years eve party tales this year on account of being far to old and sensible for that now.......
aHaHAhhahAhaHahaHahahhaHAahahahAHahAhahaha*passes out from laughing so hard*
just count yourselves lucky you didn't have to see me and my mates dancing ourselves silly to such tunes as "timewarp" and "hedwig and the angry inch" to the light of a mandlecandle about 5 mins after having risked life and limb climbing drunkenly out of the window and onto the roof to watch everyone elses fireworks
We also bought ourselves our very own "Flirting Dragon King- His dreams are sweet" firework bundle. Who names these things??? lol
Spent new year....painting and watching fireworks on telly with wife on sofa. blisss....
i am back (id like to think you noticed my absence)
maybe ill stay a bit longer this time. its been a while, fran told me there were london meets fairly regularly id like to know (sidestepping naomi a little here) when the next one is, because right now i dont have the time or patience to go anywhere else.
just a casual meet up some time, preferably in nandos. i wish i could find my loyalty card, i was just about to get a free chicken (fuck)
i will make more of an effort to go out of london if i end up being a regular again
and a happy new year also.

Hello UK peeps! Our exhibtion goes up next weekend please do come along! The private view is 7pm- 9.30pm next saturday. Details here:
Sketching expedition to Burton on Trent next weekend anyone?
Would love to come up and show some support to UK concept artists, I think its about a 3 hour journey from here, will have to check if its cheaper/easier to drive or use my trusty young persons railcard
If I do drive and anyone from Oxfordshire area wants to ride-share and save the planet let me know!
anyway, will have to ponder the practicalities, but will try to come
All the best for the exhibit Guys.
Mfraid wont be able to make it personally as i'm on a business trip. But hope you guys garner legions of fans and admirers and peeps
Jon - no embarrassing stories from here, watched Jools Hollands Hootenanny and drank loads of champagne...
Jake - cant make the private view, but will definately try coming up during the week, would love to see the work you guys have been doing - good luck with it all;
Chee - should be able to make the Brighton trip..the Soane Museum thing sounds pretty cool - when you going next?....
Soane museum - has a special showing (night shwoing) this coming tuesday from 6pm (be warned there are loads of people queuing from all over the country from 5pm though....). I will be there till 6.45pm as I have another meeting to attend to later in the eve.
Jake - Are you guys going to be at the exhibition at any other time? I'd like to get across if I can, and it'd be good to meet up. Can't make Saturday though, unfortunately.
Wish I could go down to Brighton on the 12th but unfortunately I'll be stuck upgrading a power utilities network from NT 4.0 to Active Directory. Maybe next time.
There will be more opportunities for the pilgramage..so
we are not there generally but are happy to come over to meet up with CA people. What if we try and meet up at the exhibition in the afternoon on saturday 26th Jan- that way anyone who wants to come up and see it can play together on one day? if the date does not suit then i am sure a few of the more local people can meet up one evening instead- the venue is open most evenings for plays and groups and things. just pm with a date that suits you.
Hi guys and gals
Im currently living in Amersham, Buckinghamshire (last stop on the met underground line) Iv been a member for ages but only recently been participating in weekly CA.org shenanigans, some of you may know me from EoW and CHoW, but I only just found this thread so thought i would pop in and say hello! It would be cool to meet up with fellow artists...something I sorely miss atm
Is this meet-up business open to anyone? do I have to do any daring and courageous tasks to pass the test?! ...and how do you know what each other looks like? or do you just turn up and find the table spouting philosophy, pixel dimensions, and other arty goings-on!?
I just used my wacom pen to get into my packet of delicious spicy chicken bites! now my pen has spicy chicken all over it
national rail click here
JRead - welcome!
The meets are open to EVERYONE, so keep an eye out and pop along when you can....
BTW - the McGanns are allowing a film to be made about the disappearance of their daughter Maddie. What next? A Band Aid song? fuck off.....
Hey Jread, its good to hear someone else is from bucks! im just outside buckingham welcome to the thread!
and the meet on the 26th sounds great! I'll see what im upto
Crazyness, I was just in Amersham over the weekend for a friends birthday...also rocked into london for the winter wonderland and discovered that drunken ice-skating is impossible (and I have the bruises to prove it).
Gonna try make it to the old gallaria, I may be down in birmingham next weekend so will definitly pop across if I am, not sure what time though.
