Time for me to post some drawings and stop being the one that just spams the photo thread around here. If you want interesting images go look in the other awesome sketchbooks... I've been mostly drawing cubes (both from life and imagination) and stuff lately but I don't think I'll post much of those in the future because it's not really worth looking at.
I need to study anatomy sooner or later but I think I'll stick mostly to getting a hang of the pasic forms in perspective and drawing from life for a couple of months.
I need to work on getting my sketckbook pages into the computer, my current a3 sketchbook doesn't fit completely in my scanner but I still used that for now. The results with my digicam was too bad to post but I think it could work if I use some better lighting some other time.
Some life drawings from last week:
Older figure drawings, paintings, some sp:s, my photos and some other stuff can be found at

wow its weird that nobody did reply with already 35 views, your drawings are already really good, your vuew at anotmy and proportions are already very well developed. Those studies are excellent, keep drawing, I bet if you do this every day youll be magnificent ....
dont be so hard on yourself. you are definately ont he right track. you seem to have an undeerstanding of the basic forms that make everything up. this is knowledge that many people dont have because they skip the learning process and want to go straight to making pretty pictures. your knowledge of these fundamentals is what is going to make you stand out from the rest. keep up the studies and do lots and lots of figure drawings and you will be on your way. by the way, the figure drawing on the bottom of the last page is nice.
"Let it BURN"
Thanks for the positive words .
I think everyone wants to draw cool pics right away when they start drawing but it's hardly something anyone will succeed with. Realising that and and concentrating on one thing at a time (starting with the very basics), sticking with it until you've got a good grasp on it is something I hope will give better results in the long run. It's my impression that most people starting to draw (including me in the past) gets their progress delayed by not realising this soon enough.
If I just keep on track I know I will get good sooner or later and that the only shortcut there is is to draw more.
From school sketchbook:
Some of the stuff I did this evening/night.
Very quick small sp:s, not very accurate altho it felt like they got better until the last one when I simply was too tired to draw anything more.
hah I just noticed I was so tired I couldn't even spell please
Hey Bear, this is a cool sketchbook. I like the SPs and all the 3d simple form studies. I need to crack some of those out myself. Keep it up man!
cool stuff- i really enjoy your female figure gusture thats laying down with her torso twisted. Keep working on those portraits- push yourself more and more to stay accurate to the real image.
kinokuniya: I guess the more solid treatment of the figure you mentioned came from my work with the basic forms and I'll try to do more pages of many quick sps.
chunder: yeah I can recommend sticking to the basic forms for a while they're starting to leave their mark in my brain but I need to stick with them longer to really get a tight grip on them.
More of the same simple stuff and the last one a warning to myself for only drawing 1-3 pages a day the last days.
I haven't been updating enough so here's the result of a batlle between me and artrage.
I've been working hard to get into the lousy updaters club. Some random lifedrawings from today with tombow brush pens, dunno what I was thinking with the mid-tones in the face of the portrait.
