Does anyone here know about the make up artist industry, like how much your pay entry level and how much your payed in general.
What type of jobs you get. Is it very hard to get in. I am not talking art jobs only but also stuff like salons too.
and how difficult it is to find job in make up compared to concept art/illustration animation and gallery work
I think it depends a lot on what kind of make up you are doing. It's my understanding that make up is, 90% of the time, a freelance job, very dependant on seasons and generalized (meaning, you move around between photography, plays, weddings, etc..). It seems like it could be a great choice if you're passionate about it, but with any freelance career, it's going to be twice the work to keep yourself in the game, so just be mentally prepared for the constant self management and self marketing.
Atleast that's my two cents as a freelancer myself who has a sister in law in make up artistry.
thanks for the info, it can be a good thing to try one day.
