You're rolling again, Suz. Good for you
I think this was a really good study- http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...0&d=1389384416
The form looks good and you're not so keen on outlining everything
@Kerah: Thanks, yeah I think I just gotta keep on rolling XD
And stop outlining everything...
Gah got a job interview tomorrow again. Gotta love the times of semi-unemployment...
Anyway, just dumping some stuff today.
This is a commission I am working on.
portrait practice, well actually skin tone practice
maybe I should specialize in these kinda half human/ half animal creatures!
still life I forgot to post previous time, haven't worked on many still lives lately. It got boring again, so I am way behind the challenge.
study of a bird for no reason ^^;
@Kerah: yeah it is a cool bird, it was like that on the photo.
*yawn* job interview went pretty bad but they said they were interested. They are going to send more information but I haven't received it yet. Oh well, at least I have got time now to draw more and such. I really should use this time too.
Here are some ink things I did for school, the first one is pretty bad.
more portrait practice 0_0
and... oh gosh this face must be fixed
@HarbingerofIllRepute: thank you I actually quitted them already, but I have a few to scan though. Not posting them with this update since I scanned my sketchbook (it was about time)
LETS HOPE MY COMPUTER DOESNT FREEZE DURING THIS UPDATE
oiii finally trying out a different skin tones, sketch is in sketchy stage yet
heck yeah computer didnt freeze, achievement acclomplished
Dear oh dear, I am so glad to be here. Your beautiful colorful side has
surfaced once again, cheerful little moments you are sharing underneath
the cloudy sky. I like the harmony that you bring into your drawings, and
I like the peace flowing through your paintings. What I noticed is that you
have stopped doing grey-scale paintings, which is not necessarily bad, but
I would like you to do them a bit here and there, cause they will help you
with values. Remember, colors are coming just like cream on the top of
the cake. When painting/drawing hair, think of it as a part of the head,
think of it like growing out from the head, this will help you to make
portraits more believable and avoid the wig impression. You’ve
started great in this year, definitely a bright side we can see all
over the place, keep up the motivation, stay healthy and focus
only on the good things.
@LtPlissken: thanks for the kind words I indeed must improve the hair XD On the elf it looks like a wig indeed ^^; Anyway yeah I hope I will keep going, I guess that is all that matters.
Okay, got a new job today. 0_0 Starting next week, eeeek!
Other than that life is not so interesting lately. I have been knitting too much too. Yeah, I like knitting, it makes me more calm.
Here are some recent thingies:
and a new work in progress
Congrats for getting that new job!
Analyzing your face drawing pages, I think that you have too many faces and
heads of a too similar kind. Try to challenge yourself with drawing/painting
some baby faces, or some really old man faces, lots of wrinkles, moustaches
beards and stuff. Have a nice weekend.
LtPlissken Thanks man, you're totally right! I never draw children or older people. I just started a study of a child. Usually I do not draw babies because I really... don't like them xD
Creusa Anna I miss our streaming days xD
OK here goes some new stuff 0_________0
(of a fashionable guy)
worked some more on this one. I gotta finish it, I started this in 2013. So it is old now.
Okay maybe there were more things to upload but I forgot.
Anyway, I have school tomorrow, which is really cool.
Next week I will be going to an office again *sigh*
It will be much cycling too since it is far away but too close to go with a train, and buses dont drive often here so
looking forward to tomorrow nontheless :>
I like your cross-hatching in pen, really neat
Keep it up!
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
@Dihleez: thanks I am glad you like it. Cross-hatching is my default mode for shading with traditional stuff lol
@Kerah: yeah Kerah no idea how to bring that back currently. I must clear some client work and fuck this new job is tiring. Don't people understand I cannot work 8 hours per week. I got projects to do... fuuu
EDIT: Oh I meant 8 hours per day, sorry Kerah XD
@HarbingerofIllRepute: thanks mann :D
ok very tired now so I shall keep this short
commission I am working on
photostudy of iranian kid
I was thinking of doing a comic about stuff in Iran.
cannot finish this argh
I started using ref for the skull btw, improves it big time I guess.
scanned my sketchbook too, but too tired to upload them now. I posted them on my blog as well: http://sushy00.blogspot.nl/2014/02/first-day.html

8 hours per week isn't that much... It's a bit more than an hour and a half every day if you work 5 days/week.
We all got projects to do and some of us got client work too, it's not simple. At least not in the beginning of entering the art industry.
Keep pushing, ignore the temptation to excuse yourself, strength to commit and execute and courage to tell yourself the truth
@Kerah: haha I meant per day xD Gahh tomorrow I have to work again. Not nice. v_v Oh well it gets me money though.
Okay just a quick update now.
I hope the computer doesnt freeze.
sketchbook :V (the notes dont make sense, some parts are not really Russian)
this is still a sketch. I thought of drawing a Gundam flying over a city...
not sure how I am going to make that work >_>
Thanks for your post!=) Yea you have some really good studies that will help out your fictional work alot. Studying from life gives you a great foundation for creating fictional work and it will only add to your unique characters. Within the scenes it feels like the perspective is off a little. What helps me is having an perspective point before doing any painting and drawing that i shiftclick (to draw a strait line) that keeps all the perspective consistant. I really like your sketch of the woman. You have a great precision and awesome linework that really is spot on. From this drawing i see awesome skill and potential. Try to focus on this precision throughout all your work and your stuff would be bomb! =)
-Have a great day!
YOUR AWESOME! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
You have mildly touched the subject that I like the most in your last painting,
and obsolete robes has been cleanly ripped off from you, suited up with shiny armor
and brand new gloves is how you appear now. Small mischiefs and tricky actions
can often lead to big steps of extraordinary leaps of improvements. I just received
some new slippers from a corner China shop, when I’ve re-browsed your sketchbook,
and I can surely say, that you were a big talent in the days back, but today you have
grown into something unusually extraordinaire. Your paintings got that strength
and storytelling power that they didn’t had before. If I would possess a pot of gold,
I would trade for diamonds with you. All I have to say is that you keep on exploring
the unknown, and never be afraid to make a step beyond the cliff.
Bright future and shiny meadows are ahead of you.
Lightmode108 No problem, thanks for your reply. Oh yeah perspective is really something I do not pay enough attention to.
LtPlissken thanks man, things actually did brighten up for me.
I think it is time to write a bit about my life here.
In February I started a new job, it was three days per week. A part-time IT job, hard to find here. I thought I could pull these three days per week (3 x 8 hours) off, but unfortunately my stomach acted up. I have IBS (you can wikipedia it or something), and that is pretty much stress-related even though I have to keep a strict diet too and keep track of how often I go to the bathroom. Anyway my bowels really acted up and I got a major pain in my neck and shoulders because I was not feeling well already. At this moment I thought "this has to end" so I went up to the boss and asked to work for two days per week. Of course he did not like the idea, but I told him about the health problems. Now I can work there for two days per week. Of course this means less money but it increases my health greatly. If I had to take medicins again for the stomach-ache, I would be loosing that money anyways. Sometimes I feel stupid though, that I cannot even work proper hours. But yeah, cannot deny this health issue. My father didn't agree of course but I did not care. It is not like he will help me when I am in pain at night and can't sleep. (he probably would try but cannot do anything, I mean, even the doctors cannot do anything, only give medication that makes it worse).
The good thing of working a day less is that I have more time to create. When I worked a day more I was constantly tired and I could not even get inspired anymore. All I wanted was to sleep.
So yeah, I guess this is a good thing.
and I found a great song today.
As usual, I should get productive again. I have been knitting too much. I got these new knitting pens and they are so cool. They are quite big, 8mm.
I am making a warm scarf for myself because I am cold 3/4 of the year.
still working on this one. I am so fcking slow.
work in progress.
and here is something finished for a change. I finished it yesterday, for a little contest.
Love the colors on the dragon! Its really awesome seeing what happens when you put that much effort into a piece it came out really nice! Don't hate on studies they are supposed to be rough! You did a good job with the perspective of the buildings. Did you notice how the size of the ice chunks in the water created the feeling of depth? Another great way to create depths is through size variation.
I really like the color scheme of the bunny girl with the ice-cream. Like you mentioned its a wip but it already reads quite well as an image! I think maybe if you cropped it so that the face was a little more towards one of the corners with the rules of thirds. If you added like an inch towards the sky it would give the character more facial room.
ps: I dont know much about IBS but personally what helps me with stress is taking the time to meditate. Have you ever tried meditating?

YOUR AWESOME! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
nice cat fight on post 1202 and good job on full piece in post 1206 it's hard and soft.
Lightmode108 Oh yeah I remember that, size variation creates depth. I never really noticed though it would actually work. So I am glad you could point it out (for me it was just a photostudy that didnt came out so well XD)
Yeah it is best for me to have not much stress. How does one meditate? I have looked it up sometimes, and it seems people just sit and think about not stressful things?
catukas these health problems are not very new, this is actually the 10th year of IBS for me. In fact that may be the thing that keeps me drawing the most. Yeah, a strange motivator XD
vezun thank you
OK work tomorrow so I gotta make this quick. v__v
I also want to knit more 0w0
Here is a fragment of a big traditional drawing I make (it is A1).
update on rabbit girl. How should I call this piece? Or her? I made the PSD name Kiki_2014.psd but I am not sure if she can be a "Kiki".
Digimon fan art. This thing is quite old already, I rediscovered it today.
@catukas: I am knitting a giant scarf. It takes freaking long though xD Nowadays I am knitting and then I think oh shi I should be drawing right now.
Okay ConceptART has been really slow to me lately so I hope this uploading thing will go alright. If it doesn't, I will just give up for the day. I have school tomorrow and I still have to prepare myself, like packing up things and stuff. It is 9 PM now, should work, right? XD
So it takes like centuries to upload on CA, so I will just be using some other hosting. >______>
Seriously why ;__; I want to use the attachment manager.
Edit: oh it actually attached *one* file
*sigh* I hope this issue with CA stops, I mean, I want to upload stuff in normal speed. And every topic on CA I try to visit loads so freaking slow. And I have this only on CA, all the other websites load fast. :V
Portrait of me, based upon a photo.
I want it to be my new deviantART ID so I must make it perfect :|
Any crits etc would be appreciated.
