I got interested in drawing back in May of this year. Not long after I stopped because I wasn't really sure what to do. I tried tutorials and things but got a little overwhelmed. I prefer being taught by either explanation or example. Just reading text and not being able to ask questions makes tutorials kind of hard for me. I now find myself with some free time and would like to take up drawing again. I think if I have a mentor helping/encouraging me I won't be so overwhelmed. Maybe if you have some sort of set lessons in a specific order, that might help me greatly. He is a link to what I posted back when I first started (remember I'm new ) http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=189389.
I'm interested in drawing environments mostly. I would like to try human/beast/alien figures but from what I've seen that is more for advanced drawers, correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to have the basic skills most drawers have (this is the most important thing I want to learn lol). So many tutorials don't cover everything or they don't dive in deep enough into them to actually teach me anything. By the end I would like to create a unique drawing I can call my own and be able to apply realistic coloring (or close to it) in photoshop. This may be to much to ask lol but I will take any help I can get.
Name - Justin
Age - 21
I have Adobe MC CS3, a Bamboo pen and touch, a couple books on drawing (which I don't like), and a sketchbook. I've used photoshop before for some photo retouching but not much else. You will see in the link I posted at the top that I did everything in photoshop. For whatever reason I'm more comfortable drawing on the tablet then on paper. A little history about myself, I originally was going for an associate in engineering (computer aided design) because I took a class in hand drafting which I really liked. However I felt it was too boring and restrictive. SOOO many rules lol . I'm now going for a bachelors in video game design. So if any mentors are interested in teaching me, go ahead and send me a private message and we will get to know each other. Cya around!
