My name is Andreas, and I'm from Toronto, Ontario. I have loved art, and by extension, this site, since I was about thirteen. At the moment I'm one year out of completing my bachelors degree in Business Management, and all I can think about doing is getting involved in the art world in some way or another. Though I have been drawing for a long time, I have -never- had the discipline to sit down and actually get all my stuff straightened out.
For the past two months I've been waking up extra early and dedicating an hour or two to sketching/painting/learning something about drawing. Recently, I have purchased a few books on anatomy by Burne Hogarth; my most recent anatomical drawings are actually not half bad, however they are in my physical sketchbook and I don't have a scanner.
(Anyone have any tips for getting sketches off my sketchbook and onto my computer without a scanner?)
Anyway, I'm digressing. I am here to learn how to be incredible at art, and I really don't want to settle for anything less. I would be extremely pleased if you would be as harsh and instructional as possible, if you have the time to aid a budding artist get past his baby steps. I can take verbal punishment; what I can't take is being crappy (or even mediocre) at art for the rest of my life. Over the next year (and beyond), I hope to attain a level of proficiency that could, at the very least, land me some work as a freelancer (until I figure out what to do with myself).
I am -so- excited to finally be part of this community. It is a pleasure to meet all of you!
Please try and get past my first page. ...Not so good!
